Demre – Myra – Kekova
Feel the meaning of Turquoise in Kekova!

http://itsantalya.com/tours/demre-myra-kekova-tour-from-antalya/

The starting point of the tour heading up the coast with a unique Mediterranean view is Çayağzı or the Ücağız port in Demre county. Getting in the wooden boats at the port and going towards the area, there will be the opportunity to view the ancient, submerged city from the boats during the 1-1:30 hour long trip. Because there hasn’t been an excavation, we don’t know the history of this island completely, and it is filled with ruins. While looking at the Tersane village, on the right you have stores that have been submerged by the sea and on the left you can see the ruins of this submerged city in the water. As we follow the coastline, it is still possible to see that half of the houses are under water and the stairs go down into the sea. When the weather and the sea permit, there will be a swimming break. After the boat tour, our next stop will be the Ancient City Myra and the church of St. Nicholas Church.
The Ancient City Myria which is found in the Demre county, was famous for its Rock Graves and Roman Period Theater especially during the Lycian Period. The rock graves, engraved epitaphs and coins show that Myra dates back to at least the 5th century B.C. Its fame is also indebted to St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) who was the bishop of this city during the 4th century and the church named posthumously after him after he was sainted. The church built in the 6th century AD is important as a worship center but especially for the sarcophagus of Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus) found here. In recent years, after the restoration of the murals, the most important examples of Iconic Art are shown here

Pamukkale tour excursion - Experience swimming with Royalty's!

http://itsantalya.com/tours/pamukkale-tour-excursion-tour-from-antalya/

Full day trip to Pamukkale – tour from Antalya.

The Ancient City of Hierapolis is found within the province of Denizli and is called the ‘Holy City’ in archaeological literature based on the many temples and other religious structures found in the city.

Despite information about the foundation of the city being limited, Eumenes II of the Kings of Pergamum founded it at the beginning of the 2nd century BC, and Hierapolis is known to get its name from Hiera, the wife of the legendary founder of Pergamum. Hierapolis maintained its authentic pattern of Hellenistic urbanization norms until the big earthquake during the Roman period. The city, founded upon a seismic belt, was greatly damaged in the earthquake during the Roman period, and after being completely restored, it took on a typical Roman appearance. After the Roman period, Hierapolis became a very important center for religion during the Byzantine period. This importance resulted from its becoming a center for Christianity in the 4th century AD and St. Philip – one of Jesus’s disciples – being killed here.

Hierapolis became possessed by the Turks towards the end of the 12th century. Hierapolis, an important center of attraction in Turkey, is on UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list. After visiting the Ancient City of Hierapolis, we will have free time to walk around the incredible Travertines. The Pamukkale Travertines came about from calcium carbonate found in the hot water of its hot springs. The high amount of minerals in the water brought about thousands of years worth of stalactites and stalagmites. This thermal water source found in the region is used therapeutically today just like in the ancient times.

For the extent of our trip, the places we will see includes the old Sütunlu Boulevard, Anıtsal Çeşme, Agora, the Theater and the Temple of Apollos which is Side’s symbol.

The architecture particular to this ancient city, in particular the village houses set together, has played a big role in Side opening to tourism. The region is an important center of attraction where the deep prints of history blend together with modern city life. After our visit to Side, our next stop will be the Manavgat Waterfall.

The waterfall that is found in the north of the Manavgat county and carries the same name, arises from the river water falling off a 4-meter cliff. Despite the water falling from a low elevation, the water flows with a high flow rate in a wide area. The waterfall, even though it’s not high, has a strong flow and is in the shape of a horseshoe giving it a different feature.
