While there is a debate as to which route Moses and the Israelites took to get to Mount Sinai (and a debate as to where is the real Mount Sinai) I always enjoyed visiting the split rock that the Caldwells discovered and popularized. A new series of posts… Myth Busters… I’ve seen some people say these rocks are burnt imprints of plants on the real Mount Sinai. What those that say this don’t realize besides it being a natural phenomenon is that the traditional Mount Sinai has the same type of rocks. The local vendors at St. Catherine’s Monastery selling trinkets sell these same rocks as “special” rocks. Can you guess which of thes photos are from half way up the real Mount Sinai at Jabal Maqla in Arabia versus the base of the traditional Mount Sinai? 🤔😀
