Welcome to Phrygian Valley! Tucked between Eskişehir, Afyon, and Kütahya, it is a visual feast with structures reminiscent of Cappadocia. The major site of the Phrygian Valley is in the village of Yazılıkaya, an important section of Midas City. King Midas is most famously remembered in mythology for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold. The monuments are clustered around a huge rock. Carved into the soft tufa, the so-called Midas Tomb is a 17m-high relief covered in geometric patterns and resembling the facade of a temple. The inscriptions are in the Phrygian alphabet one bearing Midas' name encircles the tomb.

The twin Minarets Madrasa in Erzurum is an architectural masterpiece from the late Seljuk era, originally founded as a center of learning, it assumed many roles through the years. It was built in the 1200s when Erzurum was a wealthy Seljuk city before suffering attack and devastation by the Mongols in 1242. The amazing building is located east of the city center and can easily be spotted because of the two striking minarets decorated with eye-catching small blue tiles. It is genuinely astonishing to view the facade that exemplifies how the Seljuks liked experimenting with different variations while aiming for symmetry. Definitely worth visiting!

Let's wander around the deserted ruins of Dara...The old Roman town is situated southeast of Mardin, and acted as a critical fortress city for the Byzantine empire. When you arrive you will first see the necropolis with its rock-cut tombs, followed by roman bridges, the agora, the underground cistern, and a part of the Silk Road (in ancient times Mardin was an important Silk Road Town with links to Mesopotamia in the South, Europe to the West, and Asia to the East). Spend some hours exploring this historic gem, it is one of the most memorable places to visit when in Mardin.

Created after the volcanic eruptions and taking the shape from the effect of wind and waves, the siren rocks at Foça in Izmir is quite an impressive place to see. In Homer's Odyssey, it is written that ships were crushing to these rocks after sailors were losing their way because of the spell-binding voices of the Sirens (mythological creatures of sort of women having wings). It was probably the effect of the wind passing over the rocks creating this sort of mythological voices. The lights reflected by the sun are changing every minute, dancing on each zigzag, producing the last reflection in the crystal clear water making an incredible scenery that makes it worth seeing.

Surrounded by Linden trees, the lovely Ihlamur Pavilion in Istanbul is a former Ottoman summer palace. The palace was constructed between 1849-1855. The exteriors of the pavilion are pretty fascinating, and the inside architecture reflects the European style of that era. The area consists of 2 mansions: the Meragsim Pavilion, which is a museum and a palace, and the Magiyet Pavilion, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while relaxing in a lovely place like this. Ihlamur Pavilion is, without a doubt, one of the city’s best historic mansions that are worth visiting!
