Here's a look at what we recently spotted. A CAPYBARA!!! They are herbivores and as you can see this one is munching on grass at the Caroni Bird Sanctuary.

On a recent visit to Tobago we had met up with Mr. Kelton Thomas who is a Licensed Rehabilitation Keeper/Falconer at Tobago Birds of Prey Rescue & Rehab Center. He gave us the opportunity to get close and personal with 2 birds of prey, a 15 year old Common Black Hawk named Sam and a Crested Caracara named Loki.

Both of them were placed to keep smaller birds from taking customers' breakfast at the resort. Both types of birds can be spotted in the Caroni Bird Sanctuary from time to time. Thank you Mr. Kelton Thomas for this wonderful experience!

We'll like to express our sincere gratitude to Chaguanas Borough Corporation who presented us with an award in recognition of our Heroic Actions at their 34th Anniversary of the Borough of Chaguanas 2024 / Award Ceremony which took place on 1st October 2024. Kalpoo's have been involved in a lot of community services and educating the public on Eco Tourism for a number of years and we will continue to do so in the future. Thank you again to Chaguanas Borough Corporation for honoring us with this award and thank you to everyone for your continuous support.
