Finally! Dr. Bertram "Birch" Kelman one of the cornerstone within the steelpan tuners, s universally recognized his outstanding tuning prowess. It was an honor overdued. Also recognised, was ace steelpan arranger now Dr. Leon "Smooth" Edwards wasalso in the line up. A number ofpan enthusiast was present to observe this auspicious moment.

This Week is First Peoples Heritage Week! Trini Riddims Cultural Tours caught up with the First Peoples of Arima performing their "Water Rituals" at the Arima River Blanchisseuse Road. There were representives from other Caribbean countries such as Guyana, Dominlca and Suriname out of south America. Also, the Merikins of Moruga, Trinidad was also present. Here are a few pics.

It's official! Beverly Ramsey Moore by a landslide. President Beverley name called forever moore!. "A clean sweep!" That was the chant on the election floor at the eagerly awaited Pan Trinbago AGM/Quadrennial Convention 2024, which took take place on Sunday 6th 2024. at the East Mucurapo Secondary School, Port of Spain. The re-appointed president congratulated and introduced her team to all present. President Ramsey-Moore also thanked the opposition team on their efforts and extending an invitation to them to join her team and the movement in making Pan Trinbago a stronger and unified organization. She then invited all present for a victory toast at headquarters. You can take in some of the election action here. 🇹🇹

Many miles away from home and getting this news is the biggest heartbreak of all. In our last talk I knew you were at peace, happy and contended I could hear it in your voice and that spicy laugh of yours! I know your history will be covered by everyone, but this is one of my special moments. The all important Cancer Awareness walk, the passion you spoke with, explaining to persons the importantance of getting tested, and the patience and grace you showed to each and everyone that greeted you was just amazing. You had this gift of making people feel comfortable to approach and interact with you. for me, I will surely miss all those long Sunday morning talks. Farewell Dr. Cape! may the ancestors guide you to the Throne safely as you continue in that next realm. To his loving wife Cheryl who I know personally was the engine that kept him going, he knew that God blessed him with you. To the rest of family, close friends and everyone lives he touched, please accept my condolences. To one of my biggest inspiration and friend, May you RIEP

A Vibrant Celebration of Steelpan and Culture
The streets of Port of Spain are set to come alive on Wednesday, 21st August 2024, with Pan Trinbago’s highly anticipated Pan and Powder Parade. Starting at 5:00 PM from City Hall, Port of Spain, this energetic and festive event will showcase the iconic sounds of Steelpan music, celebrating Trinidad and Tobago’s rich cultural heritage.

"You see them three Columbus ships in the emblem? They will go."
These were the words of Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley as he made the powerful announcement at the People’s National Movement (PNM) special convention yesterday. The ships will be replaced with the national instrument, the Steelpan. The change is expected to be finalised before Republic Day (September 24), with a six-month transition period to facilitate changes to stationery and other official materials.
