As HAL Architecture Design and Research is based in Kaohsiung, let us share a little tip for your next visit to our city - you will get one of the best views of the city’s waterfront from the Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal. You can notice Shoushan Mountain and Kaohsiung Music Center in the West, a new development in the North, 85 Sky Tower, Exhibition Center or Kaohsiung Main Public Library in the East, and the Kaohsiung Port area in the South. If you have a sharp eye for architecture, you might spot a building by architecture icon Richard Rogers.
After enjoying the surroundings, why not take the time to explore the building? Open almost exactly one year, the Cruise Terminal is designed by Taiwan's Zong Mai Architects and Reiser + Umemoto (RUR Architecture DPC). We truly appreciate its modern lines, and brave take on architecture that is not only following the function of the building but also enhances the landscape of Kaohsiung City.
There is more than one way to discover Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal. You can just visit its magnificent terrace and other spaces open to the public. You can decide to be a passenger of one of the cruise ships visiting the port to find out how it feels to arrive or depart from the building. Or for now, you can decide to browse through our photos. Enjoy!
