The Museum of Sazasa
Sazasa Museum preserves thousands of precious White Bark Banyan. Sazasa Museum is also known as “Avatar’s home” since its view is very similar to the scene of the movie, Avatar (2009).
There was a consortium that aimed to develop this forest area to become a resort. However, to keep the precious resources and appearance of this area, Curator Aliman raised money to buy the land. In addition, he founded a foundation to arrange a park for visitor’s visiting and preserving park’s equipments and environment.

🇯🇵"Naminoue Shrine", Shrine on the Cliff

You may have visited many shrines, but have you ever been to a shrine situated on a cliff?

Located in Okinawa, Naminoue Shrine was built at least seven hundred years ago. Most of the shrines in Okinawa, including Naminoue Shrine were destroyed by bombing during World War II. The present Naminoue Shrine is the one reconstructed after the war.

Legend has it that the shrine was founded by a fisherman, who found a glowing mysterious stone that is able to speak. After he prayed to the stone, the fisherman began to receive better hauls in his fishing. However, the gods tended to steal the stone when they found out the power of the stone. Being chased down by the gods, the fisherman fled to the mountain with the stone. The stone told the fisherman that if he built a shrine on the mountain in the name of the stone, the stone would protect the country and bless him and the people. The fisherman believed in the stone and built a shrine, which is the Naminoue Shrine!

“The One” Guarding Pyramids for 4500 Years
Speaking of Egypt, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Pyramids? Pharaohs? Mummies? Or the Sahara Desert? Today, we would like to talk about the “Great Sphinx (The Terrifying One)” that has been by the side of the pyramids for 4,500 years. With a height of about 24 stories, the Great Sphinx is the worlds’ largest statue carved from a single stone.

Some say it was carved in the form of "King Khafre," while others say it is very similar to a “Sphinx,” a mythical creature in Greek mythology with the head of a female, the haunches of a loin, and the wings of an eagle. In between its giant claws, there is a granite slab, known as the “the Dream Stele (Sphinx Stela).” The stele tells a story that after a hunt, the young Prince Tuthmosis falls asleep near the Great Sphinx buried in the sand, and dreams that the Sphinx promises him the throne of Egypt in return for Tuthmosis saving it from the sand.
