The Lantern Festival is so amazing this year that I couldn’t wait to share. In fact, the Taiwan Lantern Festival has been chosen by Discovery Channel as one of the best Festivals in the world. The festival welcomes the first full moon of the Lunar New Year. The official theme is “Light Up the Future” and it is a very hopeful symbol as we emerge out of Covid Darkness.

The cute Robot Rabbit at the center of SYS Memorial Hall is the star of the show. It is the master lantern representing the Brilliant Light of the Jade Hare (玉兔壯彩) taking a ride to the moon and carrying with it the hopes and dreams of our future. Make sure to visit before Feb 19th.

Exciting news for all our guests with kids or guests who love little furry friends.
The flamingo chicks born last month at the Taipei Zoo are learning how to swim. You guys can go watch how mama flamingo guides the little chicks into water.
Taipei zoo is a wonderful place to take your kids for the afternoon. It is within the city, very accessible by MRT and the entry ticket is super cheap.
Hurry up because they are growing fast!!

This is the best Manga film that I have watched this year. It is beautifully rendered and pays attention to every detail from every angle. It even renders time-lapse footages which I thought were incredible. A Must see.
It is currently playing at the National Taiwan Science Education Center until June 11, 2017.

This exhibition in Taipei marks the 50th anniversary of Sanyu’s death.
Sanyu died virtually unknown in Paris in 1966 from an accidental gas leak. Today he is hailed as one of the most important Chinese modern painters and is famously known as the Matisse of the East.
Don’t miss this exhibition of more than 50 pieces of his work that are owned by the National Museum of History and all lovingly restored for this anniversary. The exhibition will be held until 7/2. Tickets are only NT$30 for adults and $15NT for children so there is no excuse not to stop by for a visit.
