If you want an alternative, there is a vegetarian branch a few booths down that provides the imitation meat version of these dumplings. Another recommended meal at Jin Zhi is the Combination Meatball Soup (五味綜合丸湯). The dish includes five types of meatballs to try: codfish, squid, pork, kimchi, and bamboo charcoal. The meatballs have a bouncy quality and taste excellent.

Get to know Laomei Green Reef, one of the beautiful natural landscapes that is one of the best spots in Tamsui for photography 🙂

Laomei Green Reef (老梅綠石槽) is a unique geological formation located on the northern coast of Taiwan, specifically in the Laomei Village of Shimen District, New Taipei City, not far from Tamsui. The site is famous for its stunning green algae-covered rocks, creating a mesmerizing natural spectacle.
The coastline around Laomei features volcanic basaltic rocks that have distinctive hexagonal patterns. These columns are a result of the cooling and solidification of lava.
During the late spring to early summer, typically from April to June, the rocks at Laomei become covered in a vibrant green algae known as sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca). This natural phenomenon creates a striking contrast between the dark rocks and the bright green color of the algae.
Laomei Green Reef is a popular spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts. The unique visual contrast of the dark rocks and the bright green algae against the backdrop of the ocean and sky provides ample opportunities for stunning photographs.
