Lake Natron is found in the northern part of Tanzania. The nearest towns to Lake Natron are Arusha in Tanzania and Magadi in Kenya.

It is the most important breeding site for Lesser Flamingos in the world. East Africa has 1.5-2.5 million Lesser Flamingos, representing three-quarters of the world population and most of them are hatched at Lake Natron.

Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of the favourite game viewing areas in Africa. Covering 50,000 square kilometres is amongst the largest protected areas in Africa and is relatively undisturbed by human impact.

Mountain Kilimanjaro is accessible throughout the year; however, the two main climbing seasons are January to March and June to October. January to mid-March is the best time because the weather is warm and the sky is clear. January and February are the warmest months in Kilimanjaro.

June to October is also a popular climbing season because it coincides with the summer travel season in Europe and America. August, September, and October are the driest months on Mount Kilimanjaro.

April, May, and November are the wettest months on Kilimanjaro; they are not the best time to go climbing.

Tanzania offers many hiking options for avid travelers. The most popular options are Mt.Kilimanjaro and Mt.Meru-two of the highest peaks in Africa. Apart from Meru and Kilimanjaro, there are other destinations such as the Usambara mountains, Uluguru Mountains, Mount Oldonyo Lengai, and the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. Mount Meru is Africa’s fifth highest peak and has fabulous views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Momela Lakes from the summit. The Great Migration is an ever-moving circular migration of millions of animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The migration follows an age-old route in search of pastures and water. Over 1 million herbivores make this epic journey each year.

The Great Migration takes animals from the Serengeti plains into the Maasai Mara in Kenya; after crossing the Mara river, the herds remain in the Maasai Mara during the rainy season and then start moving south towards the Serengeti plains, ready for the calving season between January and March.
