As I mentioned earlier, few days back all mongoose are not immune to deadly snake venom -- they can build up an immunity but they have a few physical adaptations which help them fight, kill and eat really venomous snakes -- like cobras:
1. They have lightning fast moves -- like here one minute; gone the next.
2. They have thick skin and dense fur which most certainly helps them against deadly
bites.
3. They have a unique genetic adaptation which helps them but as said, this only
offers partial immunity, but it is a good addition to their armour.
All of these points added-up, gives the mongoose, compared to other animals, a significant advantage against their deadly prey.

We usually see this type of action occurring on the ground, but the mongoose is a very agile animal and as we can see those extraordinary moves work in trees as well.

The *Nile crocodile ๐ŸŠ ๐ŸŠ is Africaโ€™s largest reptile and it is certainly up near the top* in being one of the most dangerous animals on the continent.

*_A large Nile crocodile may reach close 20โ€™ in length and as they grow beyond 12 feet_* ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฑin length, their girth and massive body proportions greatly increase with the additional growth.

*Truly magnificent creatures, Nile crocodiles will prey on virtually any animal that ventures near the water.* ๐Ÿซข๐Ÿ˜€

A large crocodile ๐ŸŠ may lay submerged in a mud hole, which *during dry season may be the only standing water* within miles and thus animals of all types come to the mud hole to drink.

*_Most animals approach the mud hole with great caution but their life sustaining need to drink finally gets the best of them and they approach the waterโ€™s edge._*

It is at this time when a massive lunge from the water allows the *_croc to grab an animal anywhere from the size of a mongoose to the size_* of a large antelope or even a giraffe

04/11/2024

The Hadza, or Hadzabe (Wahadzabe, in Swahili) are a protected hunter-gatherer Tanzanian indigenous ethnic group, primarily based in Baray, an administrative ward within Karatu District in southwest Arusha Region. They live around the Lake Eyasi basin in the central Rift Valley and in the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. As descendants of Tanzania's aboriginal, pre-Bantu expansion hunter-gatherer population, they have probably occupied their current territory for thousands of years with relatively little modification to their basic way of life until the last century. They have no known close genetic relatives and their language is considered an isolate.
Since the first European contact in the late 19th century, governments and missionaries have made many attempts to settle the Hadza by introducing farming and Christianity. These efforts have largely failed, and many Hadza still pursue a life similar to their ancestors. Since the 18th century, the Hadza have come into increasing contact with pastoralist peoples entering Hadzaland, sometimes declining in population. Tourism and safari hunting have also affected them in recent years.
Hadza people traditionally live in bands or 'camps' of around 20-30 people, and their social structures are egalitarian and non-hierarchical. Traditionally, they primarily forage for food, eating mostly honey, tubers, fruit, and, especially in the dry season, meat. As of 2015, there are between 1,200 and 1,300 Hadza people living in Tanzania. Only around a third of the remaining Hadza still survive exclusively by traditional foraging.

Safari In The Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is another wonderful African location in Tanzania.

Every year, more than 100,000 people visit The Serengeti.
Interestingly, The Serengeti is inhabited by the Masai and Swahili people. In fact, theyโ€™ve been living here for millions of years!
The area is covered in history โ€“ it is thought it has not changed much over the past millions of years, so it has a very historic feel.
As well as this, there are millions of animals that pass through the vast plains of The Serengeti each year.
The annual Wildebeest Migration takes place here too, with over 1.5 million wildebeest seeking greener pastures.
The park covers a huge 14,763 kmยฒ (or 5,700 square miles) of grassland plains, as well as savanna.
If you were at all confused about the sheer size of the Serengeti โ€“ the name is derived from the Maasai word โ€˜siringitโ€™, which translates as โ€œendless plains.โ€
