Three day safari to the Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire:
We leave 0600 in the morning from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. The park is widely known for its large numbers of elephants, lions, leopard, and pythons that climb trees. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Mto Wa Mbu.

Day 2: To Manyara:
After breakfast, we set-off on a game drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley. This beautiful park with it’s lush vegetation and tropical forests of giant fig and mahogany trees have a wide variety of wildlife and birds which include elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, hippo's and an abundance of antelope and monkey species. If you are lucky you may see the indigenous Manyara lions that are well-known for their tree climbing habit. Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge in Mto Wa Mbu.

Day 3: To Ngorongoro Crater:
Early breakfast is followed by our departure for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and a full day game drive. Since very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2,000 feet high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippo's, jackals, rhino's, antelopes, flamingo's and many other birds species. Lunch is served in the crater beside the hippo pool, followed by returning to Arusha in the late afternoon.

When the male hyena reaches s*xual maturity at the age of two years, he leaves home and goes to find a new group. This is a violent and vicious process. When the new group's alpha female finally allows the male in, he is welcomed by being constantly harassed and forced to struggle for food and s*x.

Inhabiting mainly woodland savannahs, a herd of Giraffe seen here in Tarangire National Park are browsing on leaves at a height that most other herbivores cannot reach. Gregarious by nature, they live in family groups of related females and their offspring, or in bachelor herds of unrelated adult males where they establish social hierarchies through 'necking', which are combat bouts where their necks are used as a weapon.

Sable antelope (Hippotragus niger)

Sable is an antelope which inhabits wooded savanna in East and Southern Africa, from the south of Kenya to South Africa.

The sable antelope has a compact and robust build, characterized by a thick neck and tough skin. It has a well-developed and often upright mane on its neck, as well as a short mane on the throat. Its general colouration is rich chestnut to black. Females and juveniles are chestnut to dark brown, while males begin darkening and turn black after three years. However, in southern populations, females have a brown to black coat. Calves less than two months old are a light tan and show faint markings. The underparts, cheek, and chin are all white, creating a great contrast with the dark back and flanks. Long, white hairs are present below the eyes, and a wide, black stripe runs over the nose.

Hamerkop (Scopus umbretta)

Hamerkop is a medium-sized wading bird. It is the only living species in the genus Scopus and the family Scopidae. The species and family was long thought to sit with the Ciconiiformes but is now placed with the Pelecaniformes and its closest relatives are thought to be the pelicans and shoebill. The shape of its head with a long bill and crest at the back is reminiscent of a hammer, which has given this species its name after the Afrikaans word for hammerhead. It is a medium-sized waterbird with brown plumage. It is found in Africa, Madagascar and Arabia, living in a wide variety of wetlands, including estuaries, lakesides, fish ponds, riverbanks, and rocky coasts. The hamerkop is a sedentary bird that often shows local movements.
The hamerkop takes a wide range of prey, mostly fish and amphibians, but shrimps, insects and rodents are taken too. Prey is usually hunted in shallow water, either by sight or touch, but the species is adaptable and will take any prey it can. The species is renowned for its enormous nests, several of which are built during the breeding season. Unusually for a wading bird the nest has an internal nesting chamber where the eggs are laid. Both parents incubate the eggs, and raise the chicks

Peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus)
Also known as the peregrine, is a widespread bird of prey (raptor) in the family Falconidae. A large, crow-sized falcon, it has a blue-grey back, barred white underparts, and a black head. The peregrine is renowned for its speed, reaching over 320 km/h (200 mph) during its characteristic hunting stoop (high-speed dive), making it the fastest bird in the world, as well as the fastest member of the animal kingdom. According to a National Geographic TV program, the highest measured speed of a peregrine falcon is 389 km/h (242 mph). As is typical for bird-eating raptors, peregrine falcons are s*xually dimorphic, with females being considerably larger than males.

Female lions have to straddle the line between strength and speed. Evolution has shaped them to a nearly perfect predator, large and powerful enough to take down powerful wildebeest and cape buffalo, but agile and quick enough to kill gazelles and impalas. Their coloration and lack of mane makes them nearly invisible in the grass.

The Yassin safaris aims to enable anyone who wish to travel to Tanzania according to his budget. So, if you wish to enjoy the real African experience and be accompanied by a roar of lions and trumpet of elephants, we are your best choice

A hippo has an enormous mouth and it can open up to a whopping 150-degree angle. Their diets certainly have something to do with it—a two-ton mammal has to eat a lot of food to sustain its metabolism. But s*xual selection also plays a major role: Opening one's mouth very widely is a good way to impress females (and deter competing males) during mating season.

Vulture

A vulture is a scavenging bird of prey.
A vulture’s eyesight is incredible. Each eye has two lenses; one is used to scour the area and the other to magnify objects. It is said that a vulture can read the headline of a newspaper from a height of 1km!
Most vultures have almost bald heads with only a thin layer of down covering the skull. This prevents feathers becoming soiled when they feed on the inside of a carcass. A vulture can also regulate its temperature either by exposing or hiding its head depending on the weather conditions.
Vultures can be seen in all of the national parks in the northern circuit of Tanzania. So next time you see one, do not just think of it as a horrible bird, but rather a clever cleaner of the wild.
