Our hero for 2023 Jayden Sangue 11yrs old standing at the top of Mount Kilimanjaro this morning . Jayden is Philip Mungure son , our well experience guide that has been a great role model to many young guides at Serengeti Pride Safaris . This has been a perfect bond for Philip and Jayden and a pure love from a father that has been fighting hard to raise his own kids as a single parent in Bend, Oregon . Climbing through the Machame route , 6days /5nights , the weather was a bit harsh due to heavy rains at the forest zone and snow and wind at night as they were pushing from 15,100ft to the summit 19340ft . It took 5.5 hours for Jayden and his father to reach the top of Africa . Congratulations to Jayden and Philip for a great accomplishment today.

What is so special about Arusha National Park?

-Cape buffalo, elephants, hippos, zebra are found here in abundance, and the occasional lion and leopard can also be sighted on a game

-At just over 200 square miles, Arusha National Park has great wildlife densities, and it is home to the world's largest population of giraffe.

-Mount Meru is a dormant strato volcano which is found in Arusha national park.

Best climbing gears : mountain hardware tents are the top of the line tents for high altitude climbing/expeditions . They are four season tents with heavy duty poles to assure durability on strong winds and snow falls . For our double occupants , we provide mountain hardware trango 4 and trango 2's for single occupants for comfort and space . When you are in camps, all your gear fits inside the tents to make sure nothing gets lost especially in some busy camps like Forest camp and Baranco camp.

Happy faces after reaching 18,000ft Asl. This is what we call a point of no return. Sitting on these rocks, looking down to arrow glacier camp and the great Baranco valley, gives you a sense of accomplishment. The panoramic view from the western breach is magnificent. You just have to be there to see it by yourself. We provide helmets for safety reasons plus one of our experienced porters will be hiking behind the group carrying oxygen and hyperbaric chamber . We are at Barafu camp. The wind is super strong, but I believe it will die down as time goes on. Everyone is happy and excited to be here. The good news is that you can browse and chat with your family direct from Barafu to uhuru peak. Free wifi all the way to the summit . Make your family see you live from the top of Africa. The tower behind me is the high speed internet receiver.

When is the best time to climb Kilimanjaro?
Although there's not one "best month" to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, there are general guidelines we encourage our clients to follow when they are choosing a date to book their Kilimaniaro climb and Safari!!! June - October: Cooler and drier sometimes dusty.
December - March: Warmer with a chance of rain, but beautiful ever.
April, May, and November: Heavy rains
- we don't recommend climbing during these months. But you can still do it!
