Amazing!

This is not African Jacana with many legs, it's father carrying his chicks under his wings just to keep them warm and dry!

African jacana is polyandrous - a single female will mate with multiple males and the male's are responsible for the parental care of eggs and chicks. The female will mate with a male and as soon as she has laid the eggs, she will move on to a new male, leaving the male to incubate and raise the chicks. The female lays around 4 eggs in a nest on a floating platform.

The male will incubate the eggs for about 25 days with the chicks fledging around 50 days later. During the first coupe of weeks after the chicks hatch, the male has adapted wing and is able to carry chicks under the wing to keep them warm and dry. The same adaptation is used for the eggs if the best gets wet.
