A trip of a lifetime with Shadows of Africa

Thank you for making our trip a really dreamlike experience! Everything was really great.

From the first mail, planning and then arriving in Tanzania! All the transfers and guides were really really nice! All the accommodation were great! And then the highlight on safari were we met our guide Lucas! Really thoughtful, and observing warm, kind and caring for humans he is driving and as well for animals we were observing, he really created an opportunities for viewing the animals even better, always knowing where is the best spot, not Chasing the animals, but meeting them on the way! Beyond what the words can describe, really something to take with us back home and it will stay in our hearts forever with all the beauty of Serengeti and magical moments we saw there. He was like a family, one of us on a trip, he knows really a lot, always smiling even after a long drive and waking early taking care for everything! Nothing was to much and evetime you met a friendly smile and words polepole…you really have a greatest man for the job!! We could be thankful enough for all we saw and experienced while Driving with him!

Thank you again for Making that Happen, everything was more then perfect, we are already planning to come back!

Clearly very experienced and masters of their craft. Unmatched hospitality

We just finished an 8 day Kenya safari with Shadows of Africa and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience.

We had somewhat unique requests as we wanted to see a few different national parks in a relatively short time, and Karen Maki came up with a really impressive itinerary for us. Now sitting waiting for our flight on the last day we can't believe how much we seem to have done in just 8 days; moreover, there were no points where we felt rushed or like any part of our schedule needed to be changed.

Our guide, Joji was a big part of all of this. His extremely high level of experience was obvious from day one. He went out of his way to make sure we saw as many animals as possible and taught us about all of them. He was patient with our needs, questions, and proactively made sure we were comfortable and taken care of at every opportunity. The level of service we received from him and the rest of the Shadows of Africa staff was almost shocking.

Another standout was on this last day when Elijah treated us to a beautiful luncheon in Nairobi when he learned that it also happened to be my wife's and my anniversary. Then, when he found out we had a long wait for a very late flight back to New York, he arranged for us to wait for a few hours comfortably at a nearby hotel lounge and got us a taxi to the airport when it was time for our flight.

We ran into a lot of different people from a lot of different Safari agencies on this trip. A lot of them seemed great - and I have never used any other - but I don't care, Shadows of Africa is clearly the best one and it's not close.

Thank you Joji, Karen, Elijah, and the rest of the staff for giving us an experience we will never forget.

Such an amazing blessing to have shadows of Africa establishment to guide us with exploring God’s country being surrounded with all the beauty of the natural earth environment with all the beautiful animals in their home element! The experience was extraordinary, the staff are excellent and exceptionally experienced and fun and knowledgeable especially Dickson.

Dickson was our driver through the game drives and his passion for being our Tour guide is beyond spectacular and special! He has expressed such grounding gratitude for his beating heart being in same space in Serengeti while safely and successfully guiding us and showing us his homeland! How knew the information of the history of the landscapes, the information of the breathtakingly beautiful animals roaming around wild and free in the national park , he explained the culture, the traditions, the shifts of the different climates and natural behaviors and f the animals everywhere in the national park ! Dickson is a walking encyclopedia full of great insights and informative narratives about what a safari should deliver! Dickson is amazing, he is a leader and courageous guide and definitely knows to maneuver and navigate through the wilderness and necessary permits to enter the national parks! Bravo and kudos to you Dickson for being so ever generous with sharing with us your thoughts, humanizing the entire journey with the beat of your passionate heart.

Thank you Karen and Ben for meeting all of us the night before the journey , spending time with us explaining the importance of what to expect during the week ahead of our game drives , and all the drivers and also the owner of shadows of Africa for showing up In Person to say hello , for amazing organization!
