We honour our dear friend and colleague LEO SOLOMON who passed away last week, we are deeply saddened by his death.

Leo was kind, compassionate, funny, wise and his knowledge and experience of the mountain ran deep with over 300 climbs. He was a mentor to many young people as they made a career on the mountain. He wanted the best for everyone.

He loved his wife and three children dearly and took great pride in providing for them.

Anyone who spent time with Leo quickly came to admire and respect him, such was the quality of his spirit.

We loved him and our clients loved him. Leo, you will be incredibly missed.

Northern Circuit Day 8: (Yesterday ) Back in Arusha

The team arrived back in Arusha yesterday after successfully descending from Millenium camp to Mweka Gates. It was a challenging hike, but the weather was favorable and they were in good spirits.

After exiting the park, they enjoyed a farewell lunch, received their certificates, and expressed their gratitude to the team who supported them throughout the climb.

Today, they are embarking on the safari portion of their trip. I'm sure they're excited to experience the incredible wildlife and landscapes that Tanzania has to offer.

Northern Circuit Route Day 5: 3rd Cave Camp!

The team left Pofu Camp in great weather for 3rd Cave Camp. We are all doing great and enjoying the walk. It is a Shot hike today!

Interestingly, even on this dry and isolated north side of Kilimanjaro, we still see Eland and Cape Buffalo coming from Kenya onto the slopes of Kilimanjaro. It's a reminder of the interconnectedness of the ecosystem.

I'll keep you updated on our progress.

Machame Route Day 3: Baranco Camp

Today Jaclyn and Vincent made their way through yet another eco-system, this time a high alpine desert. Hiking past the incredible rock features of the Lava Tower before arriving at Barranco Camp, enclosed on three sides by steep walls. They are camped at 4000m so certainly feeling the altitude but all doing well.
