👑 Kholle House Boutique Hotel is hidden behind the seafront of Stonetown, Zanzibar. It is a beautiful historical hotel that, upon entering, feels like you’re back in time. It was originally the palace for Bibi Kholle, a wife of one of Zanzibar’s first Sultans.

Inside are 12 rooms and 3 Swahili suites that can be used for family interconnected rooms. There is a small pool, a great restaurant and a rooftop Zanzibari lounge where you can enjoy sh**ha, chai or coffee. The rooms are equipped with classic wooden Zanzibari beds, balconies and vintage decor. 🎉🥳 Community Outreach! This weekend, our Lion King Adventures team visited Future Dreams Orphanage just outside Arusha. The day was filled with joy, games, celebrations, and lots of cake as we celebrated the birthdays of team members Pendo and Levis. We donated cooking oil, rice, and beans, and built a lasting connection with the organization. Thank you for hosting us; we had a blast and hope to be back soon!

✨Teamwork makes the dream work! Our office staff just completed a 5 day workshop with , an organization that specializes in trainings for the hospitality industry. We learned about identifying values, the 4 pillars of life, planning, communication, leadership, problem solving and working together. While our guides go through extensive annual trainings, this was the first chance for our office staff to stop and reflect, to interact outside of the office and we now see each other in a new light. 💫

➡️Going forward we commit to remembering the newfound respect and understanding we have of each other. We are an amazing team of talented individuals working towards a common goal of delivering the best safari experience possible for our guests through teamwork and consistent innovation. ✈️Kogatende Airstrip is located in the northern region of the Serengeti, in the corridor of the Great Migration and on the banks of the famous Mara River. Every August-September, hundreds of thousands of wildebeests pass through Kogatende region, making this a must stop for high season. Just an hour from Arusha, the flight is quick and (on a clear day) offers views of the active volcano Ol Doinyo Lengai- see the last slide. Have you visited Kogatende yet?

🌊☀️Have you ever visited a sandbar in the Indian Ocean? One of the great excursions of Zanzibar, a trip to Nakupenda Beach is well worth it. This is a natural sand bar off the coast of Stonetown that takes about 30-45 minutes to reach by boat.

🏖️Once on the small sliver of beach, you can swim, watch the waves and relax before being served a delicious seafood lunch featuring prawns, calimari, catch of the day fish, cold drinks and plenty of chips. You will be joined by other international guests visiting the disappearing sand bar, and can shelter from the sun with temporary canvas tents. Nakupenda means “I love you” in Swahili. This experience can get quite sunny so make sure to be prepared for the heat!

Located off the highway in a quiet and peaceful nook, the Inn is a great option for those seeking an affordable start to their safari, and it has all the amenities you’d expect. Choose where to hang- whether in the large pool, the bar, lounge or under the stars by the fire pit. 🌌🔥

There are 15 spacious rooms, each with a private veranda or balcony. For families or groups of friends you’ll find one interconnected room and several triples. 🍛The best thing about this hotel may be the food: it was delicious and comes in big portions. We found this is because behind the kitchen is a garden where they grow their own vegetables. This is a Tanzanian owned hotel with a very friendly staff. A great choice! 🇹🇿

The buffalo, infamous members of the Big 5, roam the National Parks in formidable herds, commanding respect. In Ngorongoro Crater you may see the Cape buffalo if lucky enough. These legendary creatures can live up to 20 years or more. Despite their strength, buffaloes remain vulnerable to the coordinated efforts of lions, their primary predators. When attacked, they will put up a fight. Once hunted for resources in colonial times, it's now illegal as new laws have guaranteed their protection. Have you seen a buffalo yet?

In the Serengeti, keep an eye out for Coke's Hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus cokii or kongoni).

The Bateleur eagle is known for its striking appearance: a combination of black, white, chestnut, and red plumage. It has a short tail and long, broad wings.
These fascinating creatures are also known for their acrobatic flight displays, including aerial shows during courtship and can soar for long periods without flapping their wings. Come search for Bateleurs in the Serengeti!

📸 Highlights from Arusha National Park! Our team went on a staff trip over the weekend, and we had a blast. This park offers walking safaris with a ranger where you can see giraffes, warthogs and buffalos up close. There is a hidden waterfall and a unique blend of flora, with forests, grasslands and open fields. We highly recommend canoeing in little Momella lake, and driving around larger Momella for a chance to see flamingoes as well as more buffalo and giraffe. Various monkeys can be seen along the road, as well as antelopes and many types of birds. Overall, Arusha National Park has much to offer for visitors who want to get out of the jeep and experience the wilderness up close!
