Finally after four days of climbing we made it to the top💥 and wave our Tanzanian flag to the roof of Africa 🌁

AFRICAN ELEPHANT - Loxodanta Africana (scientfic name)
African Elephant is also known as African Savanna Elephant, is the largest living terrestrial animal, is a social mammal travelling in herds composed of parents and their offspring..
CHARACTERISTICS.
SKIN & EAR
The African Elephant has grey skin with scanty hairs, with large ears that cover the whole shoulder which helps to reduce body heat, flapping them creates air currents and exposes large blood vessels on the inner sides to increase heat loss during hot weather.
SIZE
The African Elephant is the Largest and heaviest land animal on Earth where the Males averages about the height of shoulder 3.20m (10.5ft) and weight of 6.6 tons while Females are much smaller about height of shoulder 2.60m (8.53ft) weight of 3.3 tons.
TRUNK.
The Trunk is prehensile elongation of the upper lip and nose, short tactile hair grows on the trunk, which has two finger-like procceses on the tip this highly sensitive organ is innervated by about 40,000-60,000 muscles because of this muscular structure the trunk is so strong that elephant can use it for lifting about 3% of their own body weight.
They use it for smelling, touching, feeding, drinking, dusting, sound production, loading, defending and attacking.
TUSKS
Both s*xes have Tusks which erupt when they are 1-3 years old and grow through out their life.
Tusks of Bulls grows faster than the Females, and is in highly risks by the poachers.
REPRODUCTIONS.
African Elephant mate during the rainy season, gestational period lasts 22 months and interval between births is estimates at 3.9 to 4.7,
The maximum life span of an Elephant is between 70 & 75 years where generation is 25 years.
POACHING.
Poachers target foremost the elephant bulls for their tusks which leads to a skewed s*x ratio and affect the survival chances of a population.
