Happy go lucky like little cheetah cubs.
They have no idea how hard their survival is, and just love to play which is a real delight to watch. I love cheetah - I’m sure that’s pretty clear, but the more time you spend with them the more you come to appreciate the fragility of their lives and the hard work.

4 Days mountain gorilla habituation safari in Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers a memorable 4 hours experience with a group of wild gorillas. A Gorilla habituation experience is only available in the Rushaga sector of the Bwindi forest.

Mountain Gorillas in the Bwindi forest is first habituated before they are introduced to Gorilla trekking tourists. The Gorilla habituation process where Wild Gorillas are tamed to get used to human presence takes about two to three years. After habituation, the Gorillas are tamed and can behave “normally” in the presence of a trekking group.

A client after the trip in MASAI MARA
It was a cold morning as we left our camp in the Maasai Mara before dawn. We drove a few hours to the bank of the Emboo River where we’d be waiting for the wildebeest to cross the muddy croc-infested water.

The sun came up and the heat of the Kenyan sun started to beat down on our convertible Land Cruiser.

We waited and waited as the wildebeest slowly inched closer to the water, mustering up the courage to cross.

Finally, after almost 12 hours in the heat of the Maasai Mara, we were rewarded by one of the most dramatic wildlife spectacles in Africa. The animals decided to cross at 5:30pm, right as the light was turning gold for sunset. Once one animal goes, they all follow. In this case, a family of brave zebras were first, then about 5000 wildebeest followed in a chaotic stampede.

One hour with Muhoza family

The family of Muhoza lives at Volcanoes National Park with one dominant male. His name is Marambo. He is 19 years old. Marambo has 9 wife’s and many children.

Time with the mountains gorillas is very strict - only one hour. And you never know what you can see for this time. The dominant Marambo tried to scare us with some noise in the beginning but after was sleeping all time. The females gorillas was cleaning each other, babies playing and eating leaves. The smallest baby gorilla was breastfeeding by mom.

Baby gorillas are very curious and sometimes come very close to humans . But local rangers learned gorillas vocalisations, body postures and facial expressions. And if gorilla comes too close rangers make some noise to stop it.

Client's experience;

What is your favorite ever travel experience? Where is your favorite place on earth?

It's difficult to pick just one but if I have to, I'll go with hiking go see the gorillas! This was in Bwindi Impenetrable forest, a remote area of Uganda near the border with Rwanda and Congo. 🦍

It was truly incredible to come face to face with the mountain gorillas who share 96% of their DNA with humans. The adult gorillas didn't care too much that humans were staring at them but the baby gorillas were just as curious about us as we were of them. In fact, this baby gorilla here beat his chest when he saw humans arrive and he even chased me and tried to play 😂 (of course I ran away).

Also, I can't wait to return to Uganda in August this year! When I was in Uganda in March 2020 I had to quickly leave the country because the borders closed and I never had the chance to meet my friends at . This year I'll finally watch a Liverpool game with their group in a Kampala!

I crotched down… We were eye to eye. She slowly came towards me. She reached out her little hand and gently placed it on my knee. I was frozen. Our moment was hastily interrupted, as our guide came bursting through the bushes yelling, “Backup! Backup!” I instantly reacted and stumbled back, but again she crawled forward and placed her perfect little hand on my knee. “Backup! Backup!,” he yelled again. It took everything in me not to scoop her up into my arms. But I understood the rules… I grudgingly stood up and backed away. She looked up at me one last time, and then scurried off into the bushes. Amazing gorillas experience and excellent service

I did the one day trekking tour from Kigali to go see the mountain gorillas in the volcanoes national park. I had an amazing experience, the gorillas were so closed (less than 2 meters), a small family, playful. It was beautiful to see them in their natural environment.

The Kabira agency provided me an excellent service, the booking was simple and efficient with a quick turnaround from Sharon (who is the responsible) to attend all my questions. The driver picked me up on time at my hotel, the drive was smooth, safe driver. The day was awesome. After the trek, the driver brought me to a very nice lodge were I had a 3 courses tasty lunch, and they even arranged for me to take a shower and they cleaned my hiking boots (all for 30 USD). I was brought back at the airport on time to make my evening flight. I will use again Kabira safaris tours for my upcoming trips in this part of the world.
