LABA MIGRATION CAMP
A front-row seat to the Great Migration
Like the mobile herds, the LABA Migration Camp is itinerant. It accompanies the highlights of the Great Migration, making three major stops each year, to give you a front-row seat.
These prime locations are enhanced by the very structure of our camp, which is entirely open to nature.
Your safety is guaranteed at all times by our Maasai, for whom this natural environment and wildlife behavior hold no secrets.
The Laba Migration Camp opens on December 22,2023
LABA MIGRATION CAMP
The most spectacular natural event on the planet
The Great Migration converges over two million wildebeest and no less than four hundred thousand zebras - the largest concentration of antelope, in the world.
Every year, these immense herds roam the Serengeti National Park, following an instinctive itinerary guided by the rains and the quest for green pastures.
This grazing frenzy is one of the most fascinating spectacles on the planet…

LABA MIGRATION CAMP
INTRODUCING THE MOST LUXURIOUS MOBILE CAMP IN THE SERENGETI
Far from being a temporary camping , it offers exceptional comforts.
You'll be immersed into the atmosphere of the first, authentic safaris circa the end of the 19th century. The décor, based on the theme of ‘a cabinet of curiosities’, is dedicated to nature. You'll be walking in the shoes of both geologist and naturalist collector, exploring new territories to build up a collection of singular and fascinating objects such as rare stones, meteorites and other fossils.
LABA Migration Camp is a place of wonders in reflecting the image of its natural surroundings.
Beautiful and cute moment captured by .vision
Have a wonderful week everyone 🦒🦒🦒🦒

No, you won't spot a turkey 🦃 through your binoculars… but you will get up close and personal with incredible wildlife in their beautiful natural habitat. 🐒
Team Laba Laba is thankful for your support, for all the wonderful guests we are lucky host at Laba Jongomero, Laba Siwandu & Laba Fanjove Island.
And tomorrow, perhaps elsewhere...
Happy thanksgiving from our family to yours ✨✨✨
And speaking of wonderful guest, a huge thanks to .vision for this so lovely picture !!
In our Siwandu’s camp, you can also enjoy a safari boat experience.
A great opportunity to get closer to hippos, seeing them in a whole new light but also a lot of wonderful birds, crocodiles…
🦛
Different dolphin species frequent the waters around our exclusive island of Fanjove. Spinner Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins are regularly spotted, and with luck you may have the opportunity to swim alongside them.
🐬
Our various lodges and camps in Tanzania will enable you to discover a different wildlife every time, whether on a boat safari in Siwandu, a walking safari in Jongomero or a Dhow escapade in Fanjove.

What a beautiful sight as the Jongomero river starts flowing once again! For most part of the year this river is dry. After the first rains the river will flow for a short while. It is a special treat for guests visiting us during this time. 🇹🇿 Jongomero, Ruaha National Park
Welcome to Siwandu! Here is our wonderful team at Siwandu giving our guests a warm welcome. 📍Siwandu, Nyerere National Park 🇹🇿 📸 Najoua Janin

Tucked in a palm grove on the shores of the magnificent Lake Nzerakera, Siwandu safari camp is a nature lover's paradise! Visitors here can expect to marvel at an incredible array of birdlife - with more than 400 species documented in the area - as well as regular visits from vast herds of elephant and buffalo looking to quench their thirst in the life-giving waters. Each evening, as dusk begins to fall, the hippos awaken with a chorus of honking calls, announcing their imminent departure to seek out their nightly meal of succulent grass. Truly, Siwandu is an experience not to be missed! Have you ever wondered why buffalo are one of the Big Five? Traditionally the Big Five are the five most dangerous animals to encounter on foot and the buffalo's infamous cranky attitude means they are actually more dangerous than the much larger giraffe or hippo. It's always a thrilling experience to get up close with the enormous herds of buffalo that thrive in this vast wilderness area in the Ruaha National Park! How incredibly adorable it is to watch this little elephant that realises that mom is ahead and it’s time to run to get back to her quicker! We watched this lovely scene unfolding on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, from our pontoon boat on the lake. An afternoon boating safari is one of the highlights of staying at Siwandu in the Nyerere National Park. 🇹🇿 Siwandu, Nyerere National Park, Tanzania
Watch the video all the way to see this hippo doing a playful belly roll in the water! This video was taken during a sunset water safari on Lake Nzerakera at Siwandu. Watching wildlife from the comfort of a sturdy pontoon boat is the ideal way to explore the stunning landscape from a completely different perspective. 📸 Tania Steyn 🇹🇿 Siwandu, Nyerere National Park
The best breakfast is a bush breakfast 😁 At Jongomero we make sure you get as close as possible to nature all the time. There is nothing better than arriving here in the middle of the bush and enjoying a delicious freshly-prepared breakfast in this incredible setting. 🇹🇿 Jongomero, Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
Lovely to see the Wild Dogs close to Siwandu Camp! It is such a great experience to watch the pack as they socialise and interact with each other. 📸 Siwandu, Nyerere National Park
A little peek behind the scenes today... Yesterday our Jongomero team surprised chef Furaha Mkwayu with some cake on his special day! 🎂 We have such a special team indeed ❤️
A stunning video created by @davegstunts one of our recent guests at Siwandu ❤️ Repost from @davegstunts • With a park the size of Switzerland with no fences, it’s been an amazing experience to see these animals roam free in the wild. Huge thanks to the team @selous_safari and our amazing guides Joseph and Apollo for showing us around your beautiful country Tanzania 🇹🇿 Now off to Zanzibar ✈️☀️ #tanzania #siwandu #nyererenationalpark #seloussafari #safari #eastafrica #wildlife #wildlifeexperiences #bucketlist #travelgram #amazingexperiences
