Unfortunately it has now been confirmed that Tryggve, the brother and coalition partner of Bob Jr., has been killed as well by the very same males who are said to be part of a coalition of 7 males in total. It happened one day prior to the death of Bob Jr.

The last confirmed sighting of Tryggve was the 6th March. Both brothers were seen together. Interestingly already then five of the foreign males were seen in close proximity to them, all located at the Central Serengeti.

With that new reality now manifesting itself, the Namiri Plains that had been ruled by Bob Jr. and Tryggve for the last 7 years will now be claimed by new kings and so the circle of life out there in the wild continues like it did for the last thousands of years.

GIRAFFE'S TONGUE
💚Giraffe use their 45-50 cm long prehensile tongue and the roof of their mouths in order to feed on a range of different plants and shoots, most notably from Senegalia and Vachellia (formerly Acacia) species.
💚Africa’s Senegalia and Vachellia species have developed fierce defensive thorns, requiring giraffe to use their dexterous tongues to sort out the nutritious leaves from spiky thorns.
💚Fortunately, a giraffe’s tongue has thickened papillae, which helps to protect it from these vicious thorns.
💚Additionally, thick saliva is also believed to help protect giraffe’s tongue and mouth against the defensive mechanisms of their favourite food.

💚The colour of the tongue is best described as black, blue or purple with a pink base/back. It is generally assumed that the front part of the tongue has such dark coloration to protect it during frequent sun exposure while eating and prevent the tongue from getting sunburned, however, no one really knows.

💚This is the moment a mother was caught taking part in what could be a bizarre “bonding” ritual with her cute calf as she pooped on its head – but the tiny baby even came back for more.
Nice.
💚 This actually helps to boost his immune system and also aids to strengthen the bond between the mother and the baby.
Also, elephants are hind gut fermenters.
💚 This means that once the food has passed through their stomachs & into their small intestines, it enters the large intestine where bacteria causes fermentation to help break down the grass and plant material.
💚 Elephants are not born with the necessary bacteria in their gut to allow them to digest plant matter.
💚The only way that the baby elephant can obtain the much-needed digestive bacteria is to consume the faeces of his/her mother or fellow herd members.

💚Lionesses are the primary hunters of the pride.
💚They are smaller and more agile than males and they use teamwork to bring an animal down.
💚After a successful hunt, all the lions in the pride share the meal.
💚But there is a pecking order, with the adult males eating first, followed by the lionesses and finally the cubs.

WHY LION HAVE ROSSETTS AND SPOTS SIMILAR TO THE JAGUAR AND LEOPARD?

💚Young lions have rosettes and spots on their fur when they are born. Lions cubs show the highest availability of spots on their fur and as the cubs grow up the spots become light and finally disappear completely at their adult age as in males lions. However, in adult lionesses spots remain towards their limbs.

💚It is believed that both the lionesses and their cubs having spots help them to better camouflage in the wild as they both matches with the surroundings.

💚This is because cat's have evolved from a common ancestor who was a big cat species under the Suborder Feliformia somewhere about 50.6 to 35 million years ago into several families and sub-families.

💚Almost all of the cat species are born with spots on their body fur, except for a few species like the Caracal (Caracal caracal).

Why animals eyes shine back at you when using a spotlight at night?

💚Most predators are nocturnal and are equipped with a (tapetum lucidum).
💚This is an additional membrane in the eye that acts like a mirror which reflects back light coming into the cells of the retina ( at the back of the eyeball) and thereby allows the animal to process the same image twice, reducing unnecessary loss of light.
💚This greatly enhances their night vision.

💚This is a reason why animals eyes shine back at you when using a spotlight.

💚Carnivores are not only the animals with a tapetum lucidum, but in carnivores the cells sensitive to light are often far more numerous.

VULTURES
TAI in Swahili.

💚Vultures are scavenging birds of prey feed on dead or remains of animals except beaded and palmnut Vultures. There are new world and old world vultures.

HOW DO THEY LOCATE DEAD ANIMALS?
💚These birds have wonderful good eye sights and excellent smell abilities. They fly at great height to search for dead animals. When discovered a body they float down toward them in such a way that others far away follow them.

WHY MOST OF THEM HAVE BARE HEADS?
💚Most of them have bare heads because they insert heads inside the stomach of carcass, the head with feathers would be stained with blood including the chesting feathers. So it was better as an adaptation for them not wear the head and chest feathers although some parasites may occur.

💚The bills are powerful and strong used to rending or tarring the bodies with strong force, the skin and the flesh from carcasses.

WHY SOMETIMES LAYS ONE EGG ONLY?
💚Species that are short-lived or have a low survival rate among their offspring tend to lay more eggs at one time to increase the chances of having surviving offspring and species that have long survival tend to lay one egg just as they have long life span they will just lay.

Why can only big cats roar?

💚In these species, the epihyal bone, part of the voice box, is replaced by a ligament.

💚This can be stretched, creating a larger sound-producing passage and thus a wider range of pitch.
💚The more the ligament extends, the lower the sound generated when air passes across the vocal cords.
💚In addition, the cords are large, unbroken and fleshy, which produces deeper sounds

WOOD PE**ER

FACTS #

🔥A woodpecker's tongue is so long that it wraps around its skull to protect its brain while hitting a tree or other hard surfaces.

🔥This, combined with other factors like: super-strong neck muscles, spongy bone plates in the skull that act like a football helmet, and a very small amount of cerebrospinal fluid surrounding its brain, all help prevent a woodpecker from rack their brain while pecking with a force of more than 1000g.
