👍 what I will remember the most about life on Kilimanjaro is the clouds. The never-ending, floating, swirling and changing shapes and colors as the sun set over the magical, whimsical clouds.

There is nothing on earth like floating high above the evening clouds on Mount Kilimanjaro. My friend described the fluffy clouds like cotton candy. To me, the clouds reminded me of making fresh whipped cream, spiking and cresting high along the edges of a cold bowl as I beat it vigorously with a whisk.

Congratulations to all of you >>> KILIMANJARO SUMMIT SUCCESS

At 6.15am this morning the Jason Black Mountaineering team safely and successfully reached 5895m to the roof of Africa.

The climb was cold setting out at 1am but as the world awoke the summit views were specular.

History was made this morning when 10year old Culann Conroy from Co. Galway became the youngest Irish person to summit Kilimanjaro along side his 13year old brother Aaron.

The team are all safely back in camp and the joy and emotions are overwhelming.

Thank you each and everyone for the messages of support you can’t imagine the power and strength of kind words at the right time.

I am forever grateful to my support staff of porters and cooks and guides that all hugely contribute to the expedition success. It is only with there help success can be truly achieved.

Mountaineering is personal to me and guiding these two boys to summit success will be a powerful memory that will stay with me forever. 💚

Today the climb will take us across desolate scree slopes with no vegetation around us at The path to Karanga is about 5 kilometers and takes about 4-5 hours to complete. From Barranco Wall, it descends into a valley and involves navigating through a series of hills.
