Did you know that hyenas experience some of the most difficult and painful births of any animal? 😧

🔹 A Unique Reproductive Anatomy:

✅ Female hyenas have pseudo-pen*s—an elongated cl****is that also serves as the birth canal, unlikely typical mammalian vaginal opening. 🤪
✅ Their l***a are fused, forming what looks like a sc***um, making both mating and birth extremely challenging. ⚠️🐾

🔹 Why is Birth So Risky?

🩸 The cub must pass through the narrow pseudo-pen*s, often causing it to rupture.
💔 Many first-time mothers do not survive labor, and cub mortality rates are high due to suffocation.

Hyenas from family Hyaenidae..!.

Did you know...?

Hyenas have powerful jaws and have a stronger bite at 1100 psi and strong stomachs with strong digestive system that allow them to break down almost all parts of an animal's body, ie bones, horns, hooves and skin except for the hair. This allows them to find nourishment from what other predators may consider to be valueless.

Hyenas have strong stomach acids that help them digest bones and other tough materials:

● Hydrochloric acid: Dissolves bones and releases nutrients

● Pepsin: An enzyme that breaks down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids.

Also, The reason to why hyenas eat every single dead even can eat another dead hyena is that, having this strong stomachs acid gives them ulcers whenever they'll stay hungry or empty stomachs, therefore for them to get rid off this they'll eat anything that they'll find dead. The Ndutu Region is found in the north-western part of Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, it stretches to the southern part of the Serengeti National Park. At the end of December the great migration herds usually begin to arrive in Ndutu from the north with its more than 2 million animals. Wildebeests, zebras and gazelles come here to give birth to their calves, what we call the calving season and stay here until April, when they begin their journey northwards again. About 8,000 calves are born every day from the end of December to March.

The grass in this area is rich in nutrients for young animals. And because it is short, the adults can spot approaching predators from far. It is therefore a safe place to raise young zebras, wildebeests and gazelles. During migration calving season, animals with their calves scattered all over Ndutu plains as far as your eyes can manage to see or reach.

Mount Kilimanjaro Reclaims Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction Title At World Travel Awards 2024

Mount Kilimanjaro, which is the highest peak on the continent, has reclaimed its title as Africa’s leading Tourist Attraction site during the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony held at Diani Beach in Kenya.

There was a total of nine African Nominees for the category; including Tanzania’s other entry, the Ngorongoro Conservation, Lake Malawi, Botswana’s Okavango Delta and the Pyramids of Giza, in Egypt.

South Africa’s which had the highest number of entries in the category walked out empty handed despite fielding the Table Mountain, of Cape Town, which previously won the title several times, the Historical Robben Island, Cape Town’s waterfront harbor and beaches as well as the Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway.

Mount Kilimanjaro won Africa’s leading tourist attraction at the World Travel Awards for the first time in 2013, taking over from the Pyramids of Gizza.

The Pyramids of Egypt won the category for the first and last time in 2012. This was when the awards were established.

Kilimanjaro went on to win the title for four consecutive years in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 before losing it to South Africa’s Table Mountain in 2019.

Cape Town’s Table Mountain again managed to maintain the top WTA position for four consecutive years until 2023 when the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of Tanzania won it for the very first time.

In 2024 however, Mount Kilimanjaro managed to grab back the top Africa’s leading tourist attraction title at the World Travel Awards after six years. It seems more travellers voted for the giant land feature in the course of 2024.

Mount Kilimanjaro with two main peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi is a dormant volcano located in Moshi Municipality of Northern Tanzania.

Also known as ‘Kili’ the mountain, towering at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level, is the highest peak on the African continent and the tallest free-standing mountain in the World...
