Our adventurous clients recently set off on a thrilling two-day cycling descent from the lofty heights of Kibo Hut down to the welcoming embrace of Kilema Gate, experiencing the incredible diversity and beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro along the way.

Kibo to Horombo
Starting their journey at Kibo Hut, perched at 4,720 meters above sea level, our cyclists faced the exhilarating challenge of descending the rugged paths to Horombo Hut. The air was thin, the trails were steep, and the terrain was demanding, but the breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro’s summit and the surrounding landscape fueled their determination. As they navigated the rocky and sometimes treacherous trails, they witnessed the stark beauty of the alpine desert, where every turn revealed new vistas of the majestic Mawenzi peak and the vast African plains below. After a day of adrenaline-fueled cycling, the group arrived at Horombo Hut, where they rested and reflected on the incredible journey so far.

Horombo to Kilema Gate
The following day, after a night of much-needed rest at Horombo Hut, the adventure continued with the final leg of the descent to Kilema Gate. This section of the journey was a breathtaking ride through Kilimanjaro’s diverse ecosystems, from the open moorland to the lush montane forest. The trail became smoother, allowing for faster speeds, but the cyclists remained focused as they navigated the twists and turns of the forest paths. As they descended, the air grew warmer, the vegetation denser, and the vibrant sounds of the forest came alive, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for the last stretch of their adventure.

From the barren heights of Kibo to the verdant forests at Kilema Gate, this two-day cycling descent showcased the stunning contrasts and natural beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our clients not only conquered the mountain but also experienced its diverse landscapes in a way few ever do—on two wheels. Just returned from an incredible camping safari at Ngorongoro National Park, and I’m still in awe of the experience. From waking up to the stunning sunrise over the crater to falling asleep under a blanket of stars, every moment was truly magical. The diversity of wildlife was breathtaking—lions, elephants, rhinos, and so much more, all in their natural habitat. Our guides were knowledgeable and passionate, making sure we didn’t miss a single detail of this extraordinary ecosystem. The camp itself was perfect—comfortable tents, delicious meals, and the best part: being completely immersed in nature. It was an adventure that combined the thrill of the wild with the serenity of the African landscape. Can’t wait to go back! 🏕️🌍🦓

Our clients recently set off on a breathtaking adventure across Tanzania, and the experience was nothing short of magical. Last week's event was a big step forward in our effort to save Mount Kilimanjaro! 🌿🌍

The Save Mt. Kilimanjaro campaign, which aims to plant 1 billion trees, made great progress in fighting the melting glaciers caused by global warming. This effort is about more than just trees; it's about ensuring that Kilimanjaro remains strong and beautiful despite climate change. 🌳❄️

We are very proud to say that Shah Tours was a key part of this important campaign. With hard work and commitment, we planted at least 200 trees! 🌱 Each tree represents hope and a promise to care for our environment for future generations.
