Chome Nature Forest  Reserve Locally it is known as Shengena Forest. Chome Nature Forest Reserve consists of a 16 km central ridge running north-south cloaked in lush, evergreen forest.

CNFR is the land of high biodiversity and endemic flora & fauna (closed Montane Forest,Black and White Collabus Monkey,Shengena Peak,Permanent rivers and Water falls) Chome Nature Forest Reserve is a unique montane rain forest in the South Pare Mountains.Located in Kilimanjaro Region.Chome NR is managed by the Tanzania Forest Services Agency of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. ena Peak(2,462m) in the north-west of the reserve is the second highest peak in Kilimanjaro Region, after Mt Kilimanjaro. From Shengena Peak, visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Mkomazi NP,the North Pare Mountains and Mt Meru. The forest reserve is surrounded by Pare tribe who has unique culture and still practice their age old agricultural heritage practices. The Forest is home to endemic bird species (South Pare White Eye, Hunter's Cisticola) ,Elephant Shrew, Pied Colobus, Harvey's Duiker,Butterflies and variety of beautiful wild flowers. The Shengena Peak, Bwambo waterfalls, Igoma waterfalls,natural forest, and scenic rivers interest many visitors.
