A trip to Misali never disappoints. There are underwater and terrestrial nature trails, and you can arrange guides at the visitor centre. On the northeast of the island is Mbuyuni Beach, with fine, white sand and a small visitor centre. About a 10-minute walk south of the visitor centre is Bendera Cave, believed to be inhabited by the spirits of ancestors and used by some Pembans for traditional rituals. To the west are the larger Mpapaini Caves. Nesting turtles and breeding seabirds favour the beaches on its western side, which have been set aside just for them.

Pemba’s only endemic mammal is a large and critically endangered bat (Pteropus voeltzkowi) called “popo” in Swahili. They spend their days in trees rather than caves and the island’s biggest roosting site, home to some 4000 bats, is at Kidike Sanctuary about 10km northeast of Chake Chake. There's a large population here due to the proximity of a local burial site, which meant the colony was undisturbed. Outside peak season, ring ahead to check that someone is there. Kidike is 3.5km off the Chake–Wete road.

5 DAYS MIKUMI AND UDZUNGWA PARK SAFARI.

This 5 days mikumi and udzungwa park safari , takes you to the amazing destinations of the southern circuit. 5 days mikumi and udzungwa offers a thrilling experience of mikumi national park filled with lots of wildlife diversity and well as an expereince of udzungwa national park famous for eccentric sceneries and hikes.

DAY 1: GAME DRIVE IN MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK:
Morning after breakfast, pick up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam or International Airport and depart to Mikumi National park witch packed lunch or arrive there in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives in the park. Dinner and overnight at camp bastian.

DAY 2: ANOTHER FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK:
Breakfast in your accommodation followed by both morning and afternoon game drives in the park a home to Elephant, Lion, Wild dog, Zebras, Hyena, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Eland, Hartebeest, Crocodile, Lizard and other residents. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.
Dinner and overnight at camp bastian.

DAY 3: MIKUMI TO UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK:
On this day, you will leave the park early morning to go Udzungwa for a hiking at Sanje trail for 4 hours. This is a 5 kilometers trail. Dinner and overnight at Twiga lodge or similar.

DAY 4: WONDERFUL WALKING IN UDZUNGWA PARK
O this day you will do another hiking at Sonjo trail, leads to two waterfalls about 6 kilometers hike along the Miombo vegetation where some rare primates spend most of their day. The walk can take about three hours. Dinner and overnight at twiga lodge or similar.

DAY 5: MIKUMI RESORT TO DAR ES SALAAM:
After breakfast check out from the lodge and travel back to Dar arrives in the early afternoon.

Price: from $ 1,012 per person.

SAFARI INCLUDES:
• Full board accommodation whilst on safari in the above mentioned lodges
• Private safari guide
• Private 4 x 4 safari jeep with pop up roof for game viewing
• Transfers in both directions between the International Airport
• Park fees
• Government taxes, VAT and service charges relating to accommodation and included meals

SAFARI EXCLUDES:
• Tanzania Visa: $50 per person on arrival, USA and CANADA passport holders USD.100
