At the heart of Ruaha National Park, near the Mdonya Waterfalls and stretching along the Old Mdonya river bed, Mdonya Old River Camp is a truly exciting bush destination. There are various hypothesis on why Zebra have stripes. They serve as unique markings for mother and calf recognition as well as amongst individuals, they help reducing Tse-tse flys bites, they help camouflage the single individuals especially when in big herds and also my theory is that vertical and horizontal stripes disposition help focusing on the wider horizontal stripes on the back for predators to attack where the kicks come from.
