DAY 1: ARUSHA AIRPORT – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Picked up at Arusha Airport and depart for Tarangire National Park for game drive. First you will stop at the last minutes supermarket in Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before heading tou Tarangire. The driving is along The Great Northern Highway across Masai steppe & many village all the way to Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is famous for its huge Baobab trees & large elephant population, you may expect to spot heads of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, hippos, baboons, many antelopes & the giant African elephant. For bird watchers this is the paradise over 400 species of bird have been recorded here which includes the rare species of Ash Staling, Great Kudu & fringed Eared Oryx are among rare species found in Tarangire.

Predators like lion, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals & the ever-elusive leopard are also inhabit this park. Tarangire Park forms the central annual migratory cycle within Tarangire Lake Manyara ecosystem which include up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and about 30,000 zebra. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions are found in plenty. PRISON ISLAND TOUR

Is a relaxing half-day excursion on the beautiful island off Zanzibar Town. The use of the island has changed over time. Although it was originally built as a prison, it was never used for that purpose. Later it was used as a slave quarantine for all of East Africa. The remains of the building are still visible. Stop at Spice tour
The Spice Tour is one of the most popular excursions in Zanzibar, the Spice Island. It got its nick name as a result of being one of the world’s leading producers of spices such as clove, nutmeg and cinnamon in the 19th century. Spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India. This tour is a walking tour in a spice farm (shamba). While there, you shall see how the spices, herbs and fruits grow and are cultivated. Your tour guide will describe how the crops can be used. You will be smelling and tasting spices, herbs and tropical fruits such as clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chili, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges.

Stop at Jozani Forest
The forest is best known for its kirks red colobus monkeys (kima punju in swahili), which are endemic to Zanzibar. About 10 years ago, the monkeys were considered to be in danger of extinction, but this trend has since reversed due to the conservation project. There are about 6000 red colobus monkey residing in Jozani Forest. Jozani Forest has several habitats including swamp forest, evergreen thickets, mangroves, as well as a variety of wildlife.

After visiting the monkeys, you will walk across to the Pete-Jozani Mangrove Boardwalk, which entwines through coral thicket vegetation, mangrove forest and across a creek. You walk through mangrove forest which is extremely crucial to Zanzibar’s ecosystems, providing a habitat for many lizards, snakes and birdlife as well as preventing the coastal erosion. Jozani Forest is situated 38km southeast from Stone Town. In 1995, the Jozani Chwaka Bay Conservation Project was set up to protect the largest remaining patch of indigenous ground-water forest that used to cover Zanzibar. Local communities are involved in the project and some of your entrance fee contributes to development projects and to compensate local farmers whose crops are often damaged by the red colobus makes.

After a pickup at your hotel, you’ll start this fun day with a visit to Prison island Also Known As Changuu Island or Quarantine Island. In 1893 the former British prime minister of Zanzibar purchased the island and built a prison complex on it, but it never served to its intended use! It was used as a quarantine station for yellow fever cases. Today the building is a ruin, but it serves as a guesthouse for tourists. You will the giant tortoises’ reserve, where you will admire, pet, and even feed these magnificent, ancient, peaceful creatures. In 1919 four Aldabra giant tortoises, a gift from the governor of Seychelles were brought here. They find Prison Island a great environment and bred freely. Today, many tortoises are welcoming you, and the first settlers are still among them! There is also a nursery for baby tortoises, where you can see baby tortoises of different ages. Safari blue trip in Zanzibar is one among the best sea adventurse in the Zanzibar island, not only sailing along with the traditional dhow but also you can have snorkeling,U swim, and relaxing on a white sandy beach on a sandbank. In addition to all, there are plenty of sea foods whom are all waiting for you to be tested, The dhow departs from the fumba beach at 08:00 and we get back around 16:00, with your Safari Blue guide, you will explore the mangrove lagoon hidden inside the Kwale island. Swimming into the protected mangrove forest at high tide is an unforgettable experience. This mangrove lagoon is famous known as natural swimming pool.The 200 year baobab tree is another attraction you just come and climb it and get a great view from the top! there is 50% of seeing the dolphins around the area.

Morning we set down on one of the beautiful sandbanks where one can relax, swim or snorkel. There are plenty of good quality snorkeling equipments and the experienced snorkeling guides will show you the pristine coral reef, which teems with tropical sea life. Instruction is also available for beginners, fresh coconuts and local snacks are available through out the day. After snorkeling we go to Kwale island where we have our “Desert Island” restaurant. The buffet lunch includes fish, slipper lobster, calamari, rice and sauces all served hot from the grill. The crews also prepare and present a gastronomic fruits tasting with a large selection of delicious tropical fruits, ice cold sodas, mineral waters, a delicious Zanzibari seafood lunch with grilled fish and slipper lobster, coffee and Cold drinks.

Please note: Safari Blue is a sharing trip at the tour place in Fumba, you will be sharing a boat and all other activities with other tourists there, but private transport from your hotel to Fumba and back. If Would you Like to do a private Safari blue trip please feel free to ask !!
