Did you know that it was in Zanzibar, in Stone Towne, in 1946, Farrokh Bulsara, the leader of the band Queen, was born? 🤩 🎸


👉🏻 Currently in Stone Town you can visit the first ever museum dedicated to the world legend Freddie Mercury. It is located in the same house where Freddie and his family stayed until they moved to England.

How to pay in Zanzibar?
👉🏻 In local stores and bars, it is best to pay in the local currency, the Tanzanian shilling (TSH).
👉🏻 Some stores list prices in dollars, but the conversion rate is rather unfavorable.
👉🏻 It's best to take U.S. dollars (issued after 2006) with you, and we'll provide an exchange on board the catamaran at an itinerant exchange office, at a very favorable rate

✅ Impressive but much dilapidated coral houses from Arab and colonial times.
✅ Interestingly, the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
✅ What visitors will surely remember are beautifully carved doors, the old slave market, and the house where Freddie Mercury was born.
