The Portakal Ağacı group in our campus they were able to learn on how to make dolls . From our mama ladies doll making area where we use that to empower the women since we focus on women and children of Africa .
Hence the women here can make this and gain something to help their families and make them self sufficient.
You want to join this empowerment journey you can always help them through different ways such as donation and participating in learning on making dolls with the women .

We have a new fashioned dress in our Kanga Africa one of our customers Berra brought the design that is mostly impressive and everyone would like it .
Kanga is very open to anyone to receive new ideas , styles and designs that we can do to reach the customers expectations as well as to keep it unique and more of it to make the best in this clothing brand .

Do you know Batik ?

Batik is a traditional Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to cloth.

It’s the handmade fabric whose patterns and brightness may vary due to the dyeing process which is applied to the patterns and prevent certain areas from absorbing dye .
After that the wax is removed and leave the cloth in Great patterns which are very good to the eyes .
It can be used in designing different kind of cloths and items such as dolls, dresses,shirts ,skirts,trousers ,jumpsuits,kimono,handbag and others. All these are done in our tailoring area Kanga Africa .

The Kanga, also known as a Khanga or Leso, is a colorful rectangular piece of cloth worn by women in East Africa, particularly in Tanzania. Its design story originates from the Swahili culture where it serves as a multifunctional garment, often used as clothing, headscarves, baby carriers, or even household items like tablecloths. The patterns and motifs on Kangas often carry symbolic meanings or messages reflecting societal values, proverbs, or contemporary issues. They are also commonly used for gifting, celebrations, and as a means of self-expression. This beautiful piece of Kanga was designed with the picture of our beloved President Samia Suluhu Hassan as an expression of gratitude, respect, love, and appreciation to our beloved first female president in Tanzania and East Africa.

This is Fatma Rajabu, she lives at Muyuni Zanzibar she is 22 years old and she is a widow with one child
Fatma lives in a small house of two rooms with her mother, her mother’s husband, her daughter and 7 siblings making a total of 11 people living in that small house. Fatma is one of the widows who got a chance to attend Tailoring course at Assalam vocational training center in 2022 and was supported with a sewing machine and some money to start a small business at home, now she is working at Assalam Kanga Africa workshop producing amazing products and she is happy sewing school uniform for orphans like her siblings and daughter
