Ukraine's incoming travel business seems to grasp fresh air this summer, and particularly due to the cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Arabian Gulf. Recently liberalization of the visa regime for Gulf countries has taken place. And in June 2021 two direct air flights from Saudi Arabia to Ukraine have been launched.
On June 11, the first plane from the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, Flynas departed from Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and arrived at Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv.
On 20 June, Lviv International Airport welcomed the first SkyUp charter aircraft from Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia.
With the opening of direct flights, the flight time from Ukraine to Saudi Arabia will be approximately 5 hours. Previously, it was possible to fly to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia only with transfers at the airports of Istanbul, Doha and Dubai.
Below is a comment of Mariana Oleskiv, the Chair of the State Agency for Tourism Development (SATD) as to the perspectives of cooperation between Ukraine and GC:
"The Gulf countries are a promising direction for the development of tourist flows, especially for Ukraine. The combination of green, mountain, cultural and gastronomic tourism is something that may be of interest to travelers from the Middle East".
