Traditionally, Kyiv sees a huge amount of farmer's markets in the pre-Easter period, where large and small businesses, farms and entrepreneurs bring their best produce to town!

⚠ City News: central streets closure ⚠
From 9 to 13 June, the European square and on 10 June - Khreshchatyk street will be closed for all vehicle traffic!
This is due to a concert and public performance celebrating the new visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU!
Private vehicles will not be allowed entry, and public transportation routes will be altered:
- From 10 PM on 9 June to 11 PM on 13 June on the European square.
- From 8 AM to 11:30 PM on 10 June on Khreshchatyk street.

🎎 Japan through the eyes of Ukrainians 🎎
A beatiful flower exhibition under this name has opened in the Spivoche Pole park!
It seems Kyiv is becoming more and more enamored with Japanese culture: from the city's obsessive love for sushi to the increasing number of Japanese cherry blossom alleys (the latest one is near the National Opera building).

🌃 Museum Night in Kyiv 🌃
From May 18 to May 20 many of Kyiv's museums will be hosting special events for the International Museum Day!
Some of these are quite awesome, so we decided to give you a list in case you wish to partake in some Ukrainian or international culture. Read on below!
At the top of the list is our perennial favorite - The Khanenko Museum of Arts!🎨
While not technically a night event as the others, this still is quite special: from 18 to 28 May the museum will be showcasing items that haven't been presented to the public for years!
Among them are silks from the 15th century Spanish Granada, French porcelain and textile from the 18th century, the first European portraits of Osman sultans, Portuguese and Japanese 16th century weapons and much, much more!

On May 18, the Museum of Ukrainian folk art will be conducting a special evening event at 7 PM! 🎀
It will include a theatrical performance "What the museum chests sing about", a presentation of designer costumes, and a performance from the band Bozhedary!

Also on May 18, the Kyiv Fortress museum will be hosting an interactive tour from 7 to 10 PM! 🏰
The tour will be assisted by a theatrical company, will include dancing, a film showing and a special tour of the entirety of the Kosoy Kaponir fortress where the museum is located!

A rather unusual event will take place at the museum-apartment of the famous historical poet Pavalo Tychyna on May 20, from 8 PM to 6 AM! 🎭
It will include 1920s Jazz, avant-garde films, theatrical performances and appearances by many prominent Ukrainian poets and actors!

The Museum of Kyiv History on May 20 will hold a "Scandinavian Night" from 6 PM to 2 AM! 🌊
The entire museum will be turned into a huge interactive zone dedicated to Scandinavian history and culture. Three floors of master-classes, lectures, activities, exhibitions and even a kids' zone!

The National Museum of the History of Ukraine 🇺🇦
On 18 May entrance to the museum will be free.
On May 20, the museum will host a day of street music on its territory.
This will include performances from the band Romain at 10:30 PM (neo-classic and symphonic rock).
From 11 PM to 5 PM the museum will offer nightl-time tours of exhibits as well as theatrical performances. A lounge/rest zone will be available for the entire night

National Art Museum of Ukraine 🎨
During the day of May 20 the museum will work during their usual hours with the usual and ticket prices (11 AM - 6 PM).
However, from 8 PM to 10:15 PM entrance will be free during the "Night of hidden stories". The latter will be an intellectual competition among the visitors to win the grand prize - an exclusive tour of the museums hidden reserves with the museum's director!
The evening will finish off at 11 PM with a musical performance in front of the building.

💛💙 Eurovision Finals and Onuka performance💛💙
Eurovision is over and the winner has been announced... So congratulations to Portugal!
We'd like to thank all the guests of the city, which made these several days awesome (and many more to come, we're sure), as well as the organizers of the contest and its participants!
This was one of the most joyous and vibrant events in Kyiv in a long time!
In closing, we'd like to show one of the pleasant surprises that some people may not have seen (as it was only available online) - the performance of the incredibly talented and creative Onuka. It featured great vocals, electronic music and a real orchestra with traditional Ukrainian instruments.

⚠ An important notice for travelers and residents of the city! ⚠

Airport "Kiev" (Zhuliany airport, not to be confused with Boryspil) will be closing for reconstruction from 14 to 24 May!

This is due to the repairs being done to its runway after the harsh winter.

All flights that were planned to this airport should be redirected to Boryspil airport during this period.

For further information make sure to contact your airlines or the appropriate airport authorities!

☀✈ New Travel Opportunities ✈☀
Even more travel routes are opening up to and from Ukraine! So if you're looking to come to our wonderful country as a tourist, or if you're looking to leave from Ukraine on a vacation - read on below!
✈ The Italian airline Alitalia will be starting regular flights from the Kyiv Zhuliany airport (IEV). Up to October 27 flights will be happening daily.
Planes will depart from the Italian airport Fiumicino at 11 PM and from Zhuliany at 5 AM.
✈ The Estonian airline Nordica has opened a new flight to Odesa from May 13.
Flights will depart on Saturday from Tallinn at 12:25 PM and from Odesa at 3:15 PM. The duration of the trip is 2 hours 15 minutes.
From 28 June to 24 August, flight frequency will be increased to three times a week.
✈ Wizzair is launching the Kyiv-Warsaw destination from June 1. Flights will depart on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11 AM from Kyiv and at 8 AM from Warsaw
🚃 A new train from Kovel (Western Ukraine, Volyn region) to Khelm (Poland) has started running recently! The two hour trip only costs 130-150 UAH!
We are extremely excited to see more and more travel opportunities opening up and connecting Ukraine even more easily to the rest of the world! What about you?

The riverboat ferry going to the Eurovision concert location (International Exhibition Center) launched yesterday!
The boats will be active from today to May 13.
A one-way ticket costs 50 UAH, while a two-way ride costs 80 UAH.
Passengers with Eurovision tickets can ride for free.

✈ Boryspil Airport greets foreign guests ✈
Boryspil Airport has taken to greeting visitors of the city with traditional Ukrainian music, in an improvised cultural marathon! This time the performers were from the National Capella of Bandura players.
The airport administration promises even more similar events to come in future days in honor of Eurovision 2017!
