🦌🦊🐇🦉 There are a lot of wild animals in Chernobyl. The population of wolves, deer, eagles, beavers, foxes, lynxes, wild boars, moose, hares, river otters, roe deer, owls and other animals thrives in the Exclusion Zone. Brown bears, unique for Ukraine, are also found here.

Chernobyl is the place where the Soviet Union preserved.
👉 The names of the streets, Soviet-era monuments and "red slogans" on some houses are reminiscent of Soviet times. And in one of the courtyards you can see the last monument to Lenin in Ukraine.

☢️ Everyone knows that radiation has no color, no smell, no taste, but many continue to fear it as something tangible.
💬 In fact, once you get to the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, you won't notice anything unusual (except that you had a headache).
👉 The air in the Zone is immeasurably cleaner than in any other city. Only warning signs, which are everywhere in the most polluted areas of the Zone, remind us of the invisible effects of radiation.
📌 Radiation does not spread evenly around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, but settles on islands. Some parts of the 10-kilometer zone are many times more dangerous than the territory adjacent to the nuclear power plant.
• The radiation background in this area can reach as much as 1200 μR / h! At the same time, in the immediate vicinity of the station itself, the background remains within 300 μR / h. However, the tourist routes offered to visitors to the Zone are absolutely safe. If you look closely, you can see the dosimeters hanging like clocks on some buildings in the Zone.

☢️ Ukrainian composer Volodymyr Savin has created the sound library Pripyat Pianos, which contains the sound of 20 pianos from Pripyat.
💬 "We found and recorded 20 instruments in different states in several parts of Pripyat ... This number was needed to create an instrument suitable not only for working with sound design, but also for writing compositions," the statement said.

📌 About 400 Jews from the city of Chernobyl fell victim to Hitler's executions. Many Jews decided to evacuate to the east. Perhaps that is why Jewish life in the town lasted until the accident, ie until 1986. Exact data could not be found, but according to currently available information, as of 1970, about 150 Jewish families lived in Chernobyl. The Soviet authorities prevented the public religious life of Jews, and those who prayed in secret were detained by police and confiscated religious objects.
👉 There are streets with typical town buildings, there is a synagogue, turned by Soviet atheists into a military enlistment office. And here it is worth noting that this is a unique chance.
Ukraine has a chance to show in the real historical scenery the unique space in which Jews once coexisted with Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians, Poles. A modern museum dedicated to Jewish history in Ukraine would give both Ukrainians and foreigners a new look at the difficult history of many ethnic groups living together in Ukraine, understand it, draw conclusions, and never repeat what should not happen again.

👉 In 2019 the branch state archive of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory presented the second book of the collection "Chornobyl KGB file. From construction to accident".
• It published documents covering the period from the early 1970s to November 1986, ie before the commissioning of the Shelter (Sarcophagus) after the disaster.
✅ This edition contains 229 documents, most of which were published for the first time. By the way, according to archival files, the Chernobyl accident happened until April 1986, but they were hidden.
📖 The presentation of the book symbolically took place in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
Andriy Kohut, director of the SBU's branch state archives and one of the editors of the publication, said that among the documents included in the new book were reports of accidents that occurred before 1986, a transcript of telephone conversations at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on the night of April 26. accident, information about the beginning of the investigation and construction of the "Sarcophagus".

➡ Instead, the second day we was opened Zhytomyr Region to tourists.
• Gulska Mine is one of the most famous fortifications of the Second World War.
✅ Gulska Mine includes a network of numerous DOTs and long-term underground structures. Gulska Mine was created in the 30s of the twentieth century. For this purpose, underground structures were cut down in the rocky soil at a depth of 10 - 15 meters and reinforced with concrete structures.
After visiting the mine, Polish tourists were served delicious field cuisine: buckwheat porridge with stew and tea with condensed milk, and also models of weapons and ammunition of World War II.

☢️ The radiation exposure that the residents of Pripyat and nearby villages faced in 1986, as well as the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, did not affect their children.
➡ Scientists studied the genomes of the mother and father, and then the child. In addition, the researchers spent nine months looking for abnormalities that could be associated with radiation exposure to parents, but could not find anything.
🙏 No changes were observed even in children born shortly after the accident. Consequently, the effects of radiation on the body of parents do not affect the children they will have in the future.

📸 Arthur Korneev, deputy. director of the Shelter at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, is studying nuclear lava (the so-called "elephant's leg").
☢️ What is the Chernobyl's elephant leg?
This is a substance called corium. Without a cooling system, the radioactive mass, which is Chernobyl's Elephant's Foot mold, crawled through the unit within a week of the accident, absorbing molten concrete and sand that were mixed with uranium (fuel) and zirconium (coatings) molecules. When was the elephant leg discovered? This black mold was first discovered in December 1986 by a group of liquidators who recorded an extremely high level of gamma radiation (the measuring device was out of order).
➡ In order to quickly stop the release of huge amounts of isotopes into the atmosphere and ensure environmental safety, an insulating structure was hastily built over it. In 2019, a New Safe Confinement was installed over the Shelter Object, which is designed for 100 years of operation and is designed to protect the environment from further ingress of radioactive substances into it.
🤔 It is believed that this formation has not cooled down to this day. The initial temperature of the corium at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, according to various estimates, was about 2000 degrees Celsius. Today, the temperature of the Chernobyl Elephant Leg remains several degrees higher than the ambient temperature, since the decay of actinides and other radioactive elements in it is still ongoing.

As you remember from the previous posts, our group included a brother and sister who were forced to leave their home in 1986.
🙈 We managed to find their flat! Everything remained the same as 35 years ago. Even the floor, that children burned with an iron. They found this place, there is still a trace!
😱 It is striking that before the trip to Chernobyl, the young man had a dream that he'll be in his apartment and find his toy under the sofa.
🤭 You may think it's a fairy tale, but watch the video in the post and see it for yourself. You'll be shocked!
It's a pity, but for obvious reasons he could not take this toy with him.
🙏 An interesting acquaintance, an incredible story and an impressive journey.

- the military town of Chernobyl_2, where the huge Soviet radar station Duga is located, which is aimed at the United States for early detection of intercontinental ballistic missile launches;

👉 Two interesting facts you might not know:
• One of the first supermarkets in the Soviet Union was opened in Pripyat. Peasants from the surrounding villages came here for food. Locals even complained about the queues.
• Pripyat was called the city of roses. They planned to plant 50 thousand - 1 flower for each inhabitant. At the time of the accident, 38,000 were planted.
