A failure of modern #recycling is the lack of #sustainability. It is unprofitable to recycle anything when the cost to recycle is greater than it's initial value.
While incineration is better than landfilling garbage and costs much less, a better solution is the one that it can be profitable with waste-to-energy.
Incineration produces a lot of energy that just goes up a smokestack and using that energy to produce #electricity makes it profitable when done right.
A lot on waste management be learnt from this to make our world cleaner.
