Lake Albert which is also known as Albert Nyanza and formerly Lake Mobutu Sese Seko – is one of the African Great Lakes. It is Africa's seventh-largest lake.This lake is found at the Western boarder of Ugand and it is shared between Uganda and the Democratic republic of Congo.

Every visitor to Mbale district has gazed upon the imposing beauty from a distance. But a real visit up close with Wanale reveals just how much Uganda is gifted by nature.Standing at a height of 6,864 ft, Wanale can be viewed from all areas in Mbale and neighbouring districts. It covers a huge portion of Bugisu’s land surface.Mbale town literally lies at its foot. From town, one can discern three splendid looking waterfalls which all originate from the mountain top.

On your way to the Nile River, you will drive through Mabira forest the Largest forest in Uganda. Mabira Forest is a rainforest covering about 300 square kilometres (120 sq mi) (30,000 hectares (74,000 acres). Its located in Buikwe District, between Lugazi and Jinja. It has been protected as Mabira Forest Reserve since 1932. It is home for many endangered species like the primate Lophocebus ugandae.
