Giraffe
A giraffe is the tallest land animal in the world. Characterized by its long legs, long neck, and distinctive spotted pattern, many people first believed the giraffe was a cross between a leopard and a camel, which is reflected in its scientific name, Giraffa camelopardalis.

Uganda is one of the very few countries in the whole world blessed to have Giraffes. The Rothschild giraffe is only found in Uganda and Kenya. Giraffes live primarily in savanna areas with lots of whistling acacia plants. Their extreme height allows them to eat leaves and shoots located much higher than other animals can reach. In particular, they seek out acacia trees. Their long tongues are helpful in eating because they help pull leaves from the trees. Spending most of the day eating, a full-grown giraffe consumes over 45 kg (100 lb.) of leaves and twigs a day.

Giraffes sleep less than two hours a day. In general, they sleep with their feet tucked under them and their head resting on their hindquarters, but they can also sleep for short periods of time standing up. They live up to 25 years in the wild.

In Uganda, Giraffes can only be found national Packs, as Murchison falls(in the northern part of the River Nile), Kidepo valley national Park and Lake Mburo Game park.

Today we shine a light on Lake Kyoga.
Kyoga Lake, Kyoga also spelled Kioga, lake located north of Lake Victoria in central Uganda, formed by the Victoria Nile in its middle course. The many-armed lake is shallow, with swampy, papyrus-reeded shores; masses of papyrus are broken loose by strong winds and at times have completely blocked the river. Navigation for shallow-draft vessels is possible between Namasagali and Masindi Port. The lake is about 80 miles (129 km) long and is 3,390 feet (1,033 metres) above sea level.

In Today's Episode, we Share with you Some Facts about Lake Victoria & Why you should consider touring around it:-

It is Africa's largest lake & the largest tropical lake in the world.
This body of water is named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom.
Lake Victoria is about 400,000 years old.
The average depth is 130 feet (40 meters) with the deepest point being 276 feet (84 meters).
Approximately 80 percent of the lake's water comes from rain. The other 20 percent comes from small streams flowing into the lake.
The Kagera River is the largest river that flows into the lake.
Two rivers flow out of the lake. They are the White Nile (called the "Victoria Nile" where it leaves the lake), and the Katonga River.
