Our commitment to sustainability drives us to pay fair prices for locally caught fish. Fishermen are motivated to catch larger fish as they receive a premium price for their efforts. We ensure fair market prices are paid, guaranteeing fishermen are compensated fairly for their catches. Our talented chefs then skillfully transform the daily catch into mouth watering meals for our guests to enjoy! 😋

William has made all our beautiful clay candle holders that decorate our evening dining tables. We couldn't resist this adorable pair of giraffes which are now available for sale in our curio shop, all proceeds going directly back to William 🦒🦒

At Adrift River Club, we treat all our guests like VIPs, and occasionally, we even welcome some more "furry and feathered" visitors. Thanks to our location, we often have monkeys stopping by and bird sightings that birding enthusiasts would love. We were fortunate to have a visit from a pair of Abyssinian Ground-hornbills, which was a delightful experience! Huge thank you to our manager Dedan for snapping these images for us! 🐦🐵🌿

We have been supporting Mr. Mzee, a talented weaving artist, by featuring and selling his handmade placemats in our restaurants and curio shops in our Uganda properties. Unfortunately, we recently learned that his business had to close down. Intrigued by this, our CEO Leanne went to meet with him and discovered the reason. Someone had stolen the motor for his loom, and he couldn't afford to replace it in order to fix his homemade loom.
After some discussion, we agreed to fund a new motor, and Mzee will fix his loom and move to the thatched jetty that we use for crossings to our Lemala Wildwaters Lodge. This relocation will provide him with more visibility, and we've also ordered over 200 placemats to be used in our lodges across Tanzania and Uganda. Additionally, Mzee has appointed his son Tony as an apprentice, ensuring that the business will continue for generations to come 🌟

"This was my 6th time to raft on the Nile and I have gone with several companies. This was the first time since the dam destroyed the old grade 5 Rapids. It was absolutely brilliant! The reasons I prefer Adrift are: their long term experience and skill levels, having the meal at the camp after taking hot showers, Free transfers and the best Photos ever! Adrift offers snacks and plenty of drinking water during a peaceful part of the trip then after all 7 Rapids, coming back to a great hot meal and plenty of cold beers and sodas just really hits the spot for me. We have been working with the local community of Kalagala to ensure that our guests see more than just our on-site activities and accommodation when staying with us, by offering a guided Village Walk to meet the local community.
Guided by an English-speaking Guide, all proceeds are distributed evenly to assist the community with their different projects.
Highlights include: Meeting the villagers and visiting a local homestead. Exploring the vanilla and sesame seed plantations and discovering where the fresh produce is grown that supplies our properties daily. Learn more about traditional brick making methods, basket and banana weaving and take the opportunity to purchase local
crafts from the craft makers ☺️
