This endangered species of apes, the Orangutans share
approximately 97% of their DNA which is about 99% similarity to humans.

Not in Uganda neither Africa but live exclusively in Sumatra and Borneo in Southeast Asia, and it is the only great ape found outside of Africa.

Generally they're non aggressive towards humans and even to each other. Male-male competition for mates may cause minor aggression but this has been Least observed.

It's possible that this ape felt deprived of play as it's caged or it was frustrated by the fact that it's kept under restriction of freedom to move. It could have exhibited it's unhappiness in this particular way.

Another thought is that it's possible that it took many hours without food. But being wild animals it's not easy to tell exactly what they think or feel but we just imagine.

🤠🤪🤗 as this man could have nagged the peace of this ape!
Goodmorning.

BEST TIME TO TREK GORILLAS-GROUP TOUR ON 13-20TH DEC 2021. (€2950 Pp. 14 people and 8 slots only remaining .)
🦍🦁🐘🐆🇺🇬

Uganda’s strategic location in the equatorial region, along the equator guarantees a beautiful warm and tropical climate with insignificant seasons. This makes the country an all year round destination.
Even if there are wetter days and drier days that make some activities and plans somewhat trickier and more hectic, the fact is that temperatures in Uganda are always around 21.5 celcius degrees during day time and they fall to about 12 celcius degrees at night. For the rainfall is between 1000 and 2000 millimeters per year.
It is important to know when to best come for Uganda safaris. Travelers would come for an exception game viewing experience in Murchison Falls national park, just to hit the country in a wet season where it could rain for long hours to keep the animals in their hibernations. Or maybe, one would yearn to experience an amazing time at the white sand beaches of Ssese islands just to find a very cold weather that cannot allow him to take off a sweater.
Gorilla trekking, being a highlight of almost all safaris in Uganda yet still costing a little bit a lot of money, it’s equally vital to know when to best trek the endangered apes of the forest.
Uganda has two weather seasons, the wet and dry season. However, being positioned along the equator, even in a wet season, it doesn’t rain all day, the sun still comes out, just like in the dry season, some rainfalls are still received.
Trekking the gorillas in Uganda is best done in the dry.

NOTE: The tourist generated 💵 💶 and 💷 helps to facilitate rangers to protect and safe guard there lives.

CONSERVATIONISTS DISCUSSION. 🦁🦁🇺🇬
Lets also share views about it....
Guys, issues of conservation are a bit complicated. They need managers who understand the game to be in charge.

You are born in Ishasha, your father sells his land to educate you, you study Tourism, come back to live with your landless father at home. Christopher is born in Kampala, studies Tourism and immediately gets a job as a ranger in Ishasha. When your father goes to kill a Kob for survival, and a whole battalion of rangers, military, police is unleashed, the man is jailed for 20 years or longer.

Tour operators who come from everywhere bring their clients to make money from lions, lodge owners establish their businesses and start employing foreigners in your neighborhood.... the cycle continues.

Under revenue sharing, 20% is given by UWA to District officials and it ends there.... I hear it build schools? can a starving poor man eat a school?

If I was in charge, I wouldn't even jail these people. I would rather focus on addressing challenges that led them to poaching , I would teach them and use them to teach other pouchers benefits communities earn from wildlife

I know most of the people here will understand me negatively but all was just giving examples of showing you that these people are really needy people and in time one day , these people will even start attacking tourists which I don't wish to , I just want UWA to co-ordinate with the communities around the park this can stop , trust me if these people knew that they are beneficiaries from the park then why should they do poaching , if UWA gives out scholarships , make beneficial projects to these communities , I don't think they can continue poaching . No man will ever cut a pipe of water that comes from mountains to serve his family with domestic water or there will be no man who will throw fieces in a river where his family fetches water for domestic use , trust me I am not political but I am scared.
Christopher

This is very unfortunate!
This cannot continue happening. Heads must roll. Last time it was a Gorilla this time it is climbing lions, bird and wildlife species.
We cannot wait until these natural wild wonders of Uganda are wiped out by these insane fellows.
A sorry is not enough to UWA and sister agencies but I also have to ad that;

- *UWA* should intensify the park surveillance system.
Use of Satellites surveillance especially along communities neighboring the park.
- *UWA* should also look into the enhancement of the use Technology beyond human capital surveillance along the park boarders.
- *UWA and sister agencies* should build the capacity of communities through establishment of community monitors.
In addition communities should also be engaged and they should be supported with alternative sustainable projects geared towards the support for conservation efforts/actions.
Better options for protection of our foreign exchange earner has to be protected and conserved at whatever cost. Thank you.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM FOR RAFIKI’S DEATH AND OTHER WILDLIFE IN UGANDA
Environmental degradation in urban councils is at high rate, studies carried out yesterday by Christopher and team on their report about the impact assessment of protected areas boundary (neighbouring communities). Shows that the graduation is mainly due to poverty, its there4 the question of concern whether urban people have the knowledge on the environment more than its done today.
It’s also explained that lack of education attributed to high poverty levels, thus have no access to purchase televisions, radios to listen and watch environmental protection programs.
Today the research is therefore prompted to interview and find out the possible way out and then suggest the best affordable solutions. Although discussions concerning environmental protection often focus on the role of the government, legislation and law enforcement, However, in its broadest sense it’s the responsibility of you and me not simply for the government agencies alone.
Looking forward to the community feedback from my village adjacent to the protected area, as we get permitted since we are under lock down and curfew hence no gatherings.

Very disheartening act that should be condemned globally!

These guys killed a baby elephant! The hunting company is Charlton McCallum Hunting Safaris. The owner is Buzz Charlton. The professional hunter is Max Delezenne and the trophy hunter is Mike Jines, the owner of TopGen Energy.

Mountain gorilla tourism currently on an indefinite suspension due to COVID-19

All Uganda, DR Congo and Rwanda’s gorilla tracking safaris, chimpanzee trekking holidays, and trips to track golden monkeys among other primates have been momentarily put on hold until the situation subsides. This precautious move comes as the countries monitor the containment of the spread of COVID-19 and its implications to wildlife conservation and tourism in the protected areas.

Sam Mwandha, the UWA Chief, guided that only Uganda Wildlife Authority trackers would still be permitted access to the country’s fragile population of primates, as it is necessary to tightly monitor the mountain gorillas health and safety, a move that has contributed positive results for gorilla tourism in recent

Value of mountain gorilla tourism to Uganda

Gorilla safaris attract the most revenue for the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), an organization mandated to manage the country’s 10 national parks and 12 wildlife reserves.

“The money collected from the sale of mountain gorilla permits has helped us conserve these special animals as well as support the local communities living around our gorilla parks,” says Gessa Simplicious, UWA’s Public Relations Officer

We were cutting trees for lumbering, firewoods, building poles and charcoal for selling from the Ugandan forests before we were told to start planting trees, currently we have made it through carbon farming trees.
Pine trees, and fruit trees all over our lands.

Transforming community through travel. Earlier before we used to stay in the forests of volcanos and later we were forced to leave the forests for gorilla, elephants ,buffalo and other primates.
