It was a pleasure meeting these tortoises at Haller Park Mombasa. Many tortoises can retract their head, their four limbs and tail into the shell for protection. Tortoises have a beak but no teeth and no external ears, just two small holes on the sides of the head.

Few things about Rhinos

The word rhinoceros is a combination of two Greek words – rhino (nose) and ceros (horn).
Rhinoceroses are herbivores, which means they eat only vegetation. The type of vegetation they eat varies by species.
A group of rhinos is called a crash.
Rhino pregnancies last 15 – 16 months!

Kiwa Heritage was Founded as a community based organization in 2013, to  provide several products that include a swimming pool at the hot springs, volley ball on the banks of river Nyamwamba, a cultural museum and local brew. The revelers disembark from their vehicles and motorcycles and park them along Kilembe road just a few meters from Kasese’s oldest hotel the Margherita Hotel.
