Elephant feet are covered in a soft padding that helps to support their weight, as well as preventing them from slipping and dulling the sound of their footsteps. As a result, elephants can walk almost silently, despite their huge weight. Furthermore, elephants use their feet to listen to the sub-sonic rumblings made by other elephants through vibrations in the ground. They have been observed to listen by putting their trunks on the ground and carefully positioning their feet.

These are stalagmites and stalactites rocks as geography well explains about their formation. But when it comes to a myth by the local population of this place it gives interesting version for the formation of these rocks and hence the name Mabere ga Nyinamwiru. Nyinamwiru is believed to have been a very beautiful daughter to the then King Bukuku of the chwezi dynasty who were also Demi gods. This Nyinamwiru refused to get married to Aman his father had got for her and as a result Bukuku ordered for her breasts to be cut off because of her disobedience and also to punish her never to get married. Interesting part of them is water that flows out of them which the locals call breast milk.
