A standard rabbit cage is 2x2.5ft in size and before you rush for a cheaper one, 1st ask yourself the following questions,
-are the cage sizes equivalent to 2x2.5ft?
-is the drinking water system installed well?
-is the mesh coated to prevent it from rusting?
-are the main supports coated to protect them from absorbing water and from being eaten by the termites?
-is the roofing done well to allow the fast run off of urine?
-is the water from the roof not mixing with the collected rabbit urine (for outdoor cages)?
-are the cages firm/stable /not shaking?
-are the cages durable?

Before you hire any carpenter for constructing your rabbit cages, put the following in consideration:-

-look at his sample structures and see how easy it is to clean the droppings off the iron sheets, some carpenters don't leave enough space between the iron sheets and the base of the cage, this makes cleaning difficult since the space is too small for you to scrub the droppings off the iron sheets.

-Look at the urine collecting system, are the gutters (engogo) well connected and well sloped to allow urine to flow immediately with out getting stagnant, remember stagnant urine is a sign of power hygiene and can be a source of diseases

-look at the drinking water system, are all the ni***es well connected and able to with standard the high pressure from the water tank? Some times the hose pipe tends to slide off the ni***es due to the high water pressure but it's because the constructor didn't take time to cater for it. Also check weather the hose/water pipe is not sharply bent anywhere because Sharp bends stop the flow of water to the rest of the ni***es

-check the support poles of the cage that touch the ground whether they are protected from insects like the termites and water from the ground.

-make sure that all cage doors can open freely and properly without any hindrances like I see most farmers 1st remove /lift the gutter in order to open their cage doors! But why,? It's because of contracting inexperienced carpenters in rabbit.

- check whether there are no holes left for the passage of rats into the cage, rats eat rabbits especially the young ones and eat the rabbit feeds like pellets and are also vectors (disease carriers)

-make sure that there are no spaces left between cages that can allow rabbits to cross from one cage to another especially the young ones

-most importantly make sure that the cage is large enough i.e the standard/minimum cage size is 2x2.5ft for a rabbit, it should be able to fit in a nest box for the mothers.

-make sure that there is good flow of fresh air rather than suffocating due to poor air flow

-lastly remember that it is a business and in every business you have to invest in 1st, so please invest in the business and get standard cage. Most farmers fear rabbit keeping because of the cost of constructing the rabbit cage but I can assure you that you do it once and forever but just do the expansion.

There are different ways of giving water to your rabbits and what matters is the cost of the materials and creativity of the farmer, some of them include the following :-

1-Using bowls 🥣 🥣🥣🥣🥣, e.g clay made bowls, plastic bowls just like the one you see in the video. The cost for this method is approximately zero because you might find that you already have the materials already available at home 🏡.

2-Using bottles, rabbit 🐰 bottles are always sold out at the pet stores and the price depends on the size of the bottle and quality. But the majority of the rabbit bottles are for free of charge in our community 😂, did you know that? Here is what you have to do, get an empty bottle e.g soda bottle, water bottle and make a small hole 🕳 in the cover top using a 4 inch nail, afterwards fill the bottle with water and cover it using the cover top with the hole and hang it upside down in the cage and slanting using a binding wire. Trust me the water won't pour out and rabbits will drink it all by just leaking the whole that you made. The cost for this method is approximately zero because you might find that you already have the materials already available at home 🏡.

3-Using rabbit ni***es, these are always available in the market and it is the most convenient way of giving water to rabbits by large scale farmers since it saves time and all the rabbits will be getting water from the same source (it can be a Jellycan, bucket, tank) at the top or raised level from the cage, most people think there is magic in this method but there is no magic, water 💦 flows by the atmospheric pressure and all you have to do is to make sure that the water source is always having enough and clean water for the rabbits. This is how to use it;-
For rabbit urine, it can be used as both a fertilizer and insecticide/pesticide.
Here are the steps to follow,

1. Put the urine in a container and close it, it can be a Jerry can and filter it as you are putting it in the container, you can use an old mosquital net to filter it well

2. Allow the urine to ferment/settle for a minimum of 3 weeks and more before use. If you use it directly it can burn the plants. It does not get expired, the more it stays, the more it works better just like wine 🍷, the more it stays, the more more it is good

3. If you want to use it as a foliar fertiliser, mix 1 litre of urine with 4 litres of water and spray every after 2 weeks for 3 times

Always Check on your young rabbits,

If you see that they have big round berries, just know that they are well breast fed by the mother

If you see that they have small fallen inwards berries just know that they aren't breast fed well by the mother due to a number of reasons which may include the following:-
-Total failure of the mother to breast feed the babies, some mothers just don't want to breast feed especially when it's their 1st time of giving birth and therefore you can either help the kids to breast feed by holding the mother or you can give the babies to a foster mother who is breast feeding though you have to keep on checking whether the foster mother breast feeds them.
-Mother having little milk in the breasts, this is due to under feeding or feeding the mother on less nutritious feeds, just like in humans please take more extra care for the mothers.
-Mother being stressed like the environment where she is living with her babies, is it clean large enough and cool.
-Mother sharing the house with other rabbits, mothers are supposed to stay in their own private room with her babies but if she is sharing a room with other rabbits, they over jazz and play to the extent of the mother forgetting that she has to breast feed

If you see that the babies are sleeping together , just know that they are well breast fed

If you see that they are stubborn and reacting in terms of moving from one position to another just know that they are hungry and looking for a mother

Note that mothers breast feed their babies only twice in a day mainly in the early morning and very late in the evening.

5) profitable rabbitry is about numbers and consistence.
