Who’s ready to talk about dining plans at Walt Disney World?
We personally love the dining plan and have used it every trip since 2015 (minus the 2 trips during C19 era)
This trip we opted for the Disney Dining Plan:
•1 table service meal (with the option for alcohol for guest 21+)
•1 quick service meal (with the option for alcohol for guest 21+)
•1 snack
…all per person per night
We stayed 6 nights so we had:
•12 adult table service meals
•12 child table service meals
•12 adult quick service meals
•12 child quick service meals
•24 snacks
We had table service meals at:
•Chef Mickeys (character dining-Contemporary Resort)
•The Crystal Palace (character dining-Magic Kingdom)
•Tusker House (character dining-Animal Kingdom)
•The Garden Grill (character dining-Epcot)
•Coral Reef (table service with menu-Epcot)
•Ohana (character dining-Polynesian Resort)
We had quick services meals at:
•Everything Pop (Pop Century “cafeteria”)
•ABC Commissary (Hollywood Studios)
•Backlot Express (Hollywood Studios)
•D-Luxe Burger (Disney Springs)
•Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe (Magic Kingdom)
We actually ran out of snacks before anything else 😅 (gonna need Disney to bring back those 2 snacks per person per night🤣)
Out of pocket:
So we did pay out of pocket for our meal at Splitsville and for a large pizza from Everything Pop. But we pre-budgeted for those.
To our family, the dining plan is 100% worth it. We came back with 0 dining credits and snacks leftover. There are 2 different dining plans available. If you book with me, I will sit with you, and we can go over the breakdown for the dining plan, and if it’s right for your family.

Time to talk about Friday…our last day
We did Early Entry at Magic Kingdom. First ride of the morning was Space Mountain, but Liam’s first ride was Buzz. I did manage to get us in the virtual queue for Tron. We got group 6. Lukas was just a half an inch too short, so only the big kids got to ride. While they were riding, he and I did the Astro Orbiter. Then I got to do Tron with Ryan. It’s cool, but I think it’s a one and done for me. I did purchase Genie+ just so we could cover as much ground as possible with it being our last day. I also bought the individual lightening lane for 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, but it went down and stayed down all day. A quick trip to guest relations and we got a refund. We managed to do all of our other favorites in MK. I even did Haunted Mansion(IYKYK😆). We had “brunch” at Ohana with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. The food is always so very good. After a trip back to the room for a quick nap and to watch Tennessee baseball, we headed back to the park to finish up our rides, get dinner, and watch fireworks.
It was a perfect way to end the trip❤️

Let’s do a 2 day update!
Wednesday we made our way to Animal Kingdom for early entry. As we walked over to Expedition Everest, the cast member asked how many people we had. He goes “perfect, you get to be the first family and open the ride”. Y’all. Expedition Everest has been one of my favs since it opened. And we got picked to open it for Lukas’ very first ride. Actual ✨Disney Magic✨
We managed to ride everything in Animal Kingdom (except Flight of Passage) without using Genie+. We also had breakfast at Tusker House. It is a buffet, table service restaurant with characters. Reservations are highly recommended. This is one restaurant that we have to do every single trip.
Wednesday night, Ryan and I did something we haven’t done since Lukas’ first Disney trip, a Disney Date Night. We went to Disney Spring for dinner and bowling at Splitsville. The food was sooooo good. And bowling was such a good time. They had a little contest going that if you bowled a strike while a pink pin was in the 1 spot, you got a free donut at Everglazed…guess who got a free donut 🙋🏼♀️
Thursday we went to Epcot for Lukas’ 6th birthday. We made it to Early Entry within a few minutes of it starting. We immediately got in line for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. That was Liam’s only ride request all week🤣 After Remy, we went straight to Figment, then to our breakfast at The Garden Grill. Now, we’ve never done breakfast before and wanted to try it. I can honestly say I don’t know which meal there is my favorite. The Garden Grill is a table service restaurant with characters, and it is served family style. Again, reservations are highly recommended. After lunch, we went to Nemo and then we were ready to use our Individual Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This was our first time riding. Holy guacamole. Hands down the BEST ride in Disney. As soon as we got off, I was able to get in the virtual queue in hopes to do it a second time. And we got to before our dinner reservation. But what we aren’t going to talk about is the monsoon that came before dinner and how absolutely soaked we got 😅 For Lukas’ birthday dinner, we ate at Coral Reef. This is table service, and reservations are recommended.
Last day, best day at Magic Kingdom❤️
Day 2 was spent at Magic Kingdom on Tuesday (yes I know I’m behind)
We had 8:05am reservations for The Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and a few of his Hundred Acre Wood pals. It is a table service restaurant with a full buffet during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and advanced reservations are highly recommended. This is always a must do for us, especially breakfast. After our breakfast, we went to our next reservation, Harmony Barbershop. I so badly wanted Liam to get his “first haircut” at WDW just like Lukas, but C19 had other plans. However, they do offer other cuts, so just a “child haircut” was perfect. After his haircut, we decided to take on a few rides. We’re going back to Magic Kingdom again on Friday for our last day.
Tuesday night we hit Disney Springs and had quick service dinner at D-Luxe Burger. Everyone agreed (even picky Lukas) that it was the best food. We did a little shopping and headed back to the resort.
Today, we went to Animal Kingdom and I’ll do that update tonight.
Day 1 was spent at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Early Entry (for Walt Disney World Resort guests) was at 7:30. This allowed us into the park 30 minutes before opening to line up for Slinky Dog Dash. Once the park officially opened, we were able to start riding.

Toy Story Mania- posted wait 5 minutes, waited 5 minutes
Alien Swirling Saucers- posted wait 5 minutes, waited 5 minutes
Tower of Terror- posted wait 45 minutes, waited 30 minutes
Muppet Vision 3D- posted wait 10 minutes, waited 10 minutes
Liam was able to ride Slinky Dog Dash for the very first time. He loved it. Lukas got to ride Tower of Terror for the first time. Let’s just say, his first time riding went better than my first time riding😆 After Muppet Vision 3D we decided it was time for some food. So we made a stop at ABC Commissary, which is a quick service restaurant. The boys decided it was time to head back to the room for a nap and pool time. We ended up cancelling our dinner reservation because the boys didn’t want to go back to the park, so the big kids decided to go back alone to hit some more rides and get dinner.

We had dinner at The Backlot Express, which is also a quick service restaurant.
Day 2 is at Magic Kingdom
Night 1 is officially over
We started our Disney trip off with table service reservations at Chef Mickey’s, which is located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This has officially gone back to buffet, and let me just tell you, it was so good. There were so many good choices for children and adults. It is character dining. You get to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy.
This restaurant is only available for breakfast and dinner. Advanced dining reservations are recommended.
