This position requires a basic knowledge of aircraft servicing and handling. The job includes varying amounts of fueling, ground support, and aircraft movement. Vehicle and facility maintenance and upkeep are routine functions. FAA and other safety rules must be followed. Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Supervisor in charge.

Must-haves:
Ability to pass a drug screening test
Able to pass a background check
Clean driving record

• Pre-flight prep: fuel the aircraft, load customer baggage and valet cars
• Aircraft marshalling
• Ensure the aircraft is positioned to be able to exit the ramp without encountering any and all obstacles
• Remove chocks, external power and entry way carpets
• Signal crews when clear for engine start
• Direct crew when aircraft is ready to depart from the ramp
Post-Flight
• Valet vehicles
• Unload baggage
• Service Lavatory
• Wash Customer Vehicle
• Aircraft movements
• Wing walking
• Towing
• Parking
• Positioning Fuel Truck
• Perform basic maintenance and care of fuel truck and associated equipment.

Duties include:
• Daily fuel truck inspections
• Light maintenance; service oil and fluid levels, tire inflation and condition, etc.
• Schedule and oversee heavy maintenance
• Keep truck adequately fueled considering fuel quantity and grade (not aviation fuel, but fuel for truck)
• Inspect equipment and run the ATA checklists
• Aircraft Fueling
• Fuel uploading from fuel farm Aircraft Tug
• Perform basic maintenance and care of the aircraft tug and associated equipment.
Duties include:
• Cleanliness of truck and associated equipment
• Light maintenance; service oil and fluid levels, tire inflation and condition, etc.
• Ensure equipment is fueled for the days mission
• Inspect equipment and run the ATA checklists Facilities Care
• Gather newspapers and pre-position them for availability for use by departing aircraft
• Empty all trash receptacles as needed
• Clean the glass in lobby, bathrooms, conference room areas, and hanger
• Clean and restock men’s and women’s bathroom
• Clean the counters and appliances in the front lobby, conference room, and kitchen areas
• Restock passenger comfort items and supplies in the lobby, bathrooms, shop and kitchen
• Other duties as requested

Qualifications
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule including shift, weekend, and holidays is required
• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Experience in aircraft/aviation industry
• Strong communication skills
• Previous experience in a customer service capacity

Aberdeen Flying Service (AFS) was originally established in 1946 by the late James L. Caven. This third-generation company is proudly managed by Mark A. Caven and his son Charles P. Caven and his wife Janna L. Caven.

AFS believes “what’s in a name” truly matters; Service. The Cavens and the entire AFS team work each day to make local customers, visiting aircraft and everyone in-between feel welcome and a part of the family.
