Introducing Landon Talley ,

Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, Landon submersed himself in the gritty tones of Red Dirt as well as the earnest lyrics of Americana, and lends himself to both styles. From a young age he fell in love with music, but it wasn’t until his junior year of high school that he picked up a guitar.

Finding inspiration from his favorite songwriting giants John Prine, Jason Isbell, John Baumann, Willie Nelson, Brent Cobb and Robert Earl Keen. Landon has cultivated his own sound that resulted in his acoustic EP, “Truth.” In his eclectic conglomeration of songs, Landon aimed to display his love of songwriting through haunting ballads as well toe-tapping anthems. Landon will be touring across the state in June, with performances in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas, Granbury, and Turkey!

Calling All Texas Music Venues: Amplify Your Impact! Apply Now for the TMIR Rebate Program and Secure up to $100,000 to Fuel Your Live Music Scene. Deadline: November 30th. Rock On! 🎸

The first round of applications for the Texas Music Incubator Rebate (TMIR) Program will close on November 30, 2023.

This historic tax rebate program provides qualifying music venues and festival promoters in Texas with a full or partial rebate of mixed beverage gross receipts taxes or sales taxes attributable to the sale of beer and wine remitted in the prior fiscal year (September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023), up to $100,000.

With $20.2 million in funding approved for the biennium, the rebates are to assist eligible venues and promoters in their efforts to create and support live music performance across Texas. The TMIR Program is administered by the Texas Music Office.

Introducing Caleb Sutton

Caleb Sutton, also known as "The West Texas Kid" is a rising star and a promising talent in the Texas country music scene. Born and raised in the small town of Hawley, Texas, this 18-year-old artist has managed to turn heads with his incredible talent and passion for music.

Before setting foot on the path to becoming a country music sensation, Caleb was a formidable state championship football player. His dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit on the field are clearly mirrored in his approach to music. But it was his undeniable musical ability and enthralling stage presence that ultimately led him to pursue his true passion.

Introducing Holli Garet,

Born and raised in San Angelo, Texas, with a love for music for as long as she can remember. This West Texas artist grew up listening to all kinds of music from southern to classic rock along with quite a bit of blues. Her music showcases a unique blend of all of these sounds with influences from Jewel and Stevie Nicks.

When you attend a show by Holli you're likely to hear a lot of original music as well as covers from artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd. The show will also be a chance for you to hear the passion in her voice that pairs great with her talent on the keys.

Holli recounts some of her youngest memories with her Grandma playing the blues and boogie-woogie on the piano. unfortunately, Holli was only 7 when her grandma passed away, and when she did Holli took all of those emotions and memories and put them into her music. Holli's grandma left behind her piano and in the years following Holli spent hours practicing on it and learning, in memory of her grandma. Only a few years later, Holli wrote her first song when she was only 12 years old.

Holli is currently spending time writing songs and getting ready to record her first album!

We are excited to share our first local venue spotlight!
Introducing Mulligans Sports Bar, Grill, and Golf.

Mulligans opened in August 2018. It is a family-friendly restaurant that has plenty of fun for any age. Mulligans offers co****le, sand volleyball, a driving range, a 9-hole fully lit par 3 golf course, and fishing. A great venue where anyone can enjoy live music every Friday and Saturday night with no cover charge. Mulligans also hosts Mulligans Outdoor Bash annually. Some of the previous shows included Parker McCollum, Flatland Calvary, Jason Bolland and the Stragglers, Dylan Wheeler, Roger Crager, The Huser Brothers Band, Hayden McBride, Bart Crow, and many more to come! Mulligans also shows support for our local artists who are showcased at every outdoor Bash. Mulligans is open 7 days a week from 11am-11pm Sunday-Thursday and 11am-12am Friday and Saturday, with a full menu of delicious food and drinks with the best steak fingers in West Texas! Introducing Abby French,

Give a big West Texas welcome to this young, local artist. Abby French is a female artist who is from Abilene and constantly plays music at venues here in the Big Country. Abby singers covers of both classic and modern country songs as well as showcasing a bit of her own music. She is a skilled guitar player who has a friendly southern voice. Abby will be playing at The Ice House at LSDG on May 31. Come out and have a drink while listening to her authentic country sound.

Introducing Luke Powell

This Abilene local artist is new to the live music scene here in the red dirt country. He plays covers of both classic and new age country. Influenced by artists like Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Aaron Watson, as well as his uncle Mark Powell.

Luke Powell is a multi-instrumentalist and singer, who knows how to play the bass, guitar, drums and is learning steel guitar. If you have not had the chance to hear Luke play live you will want to make it to Potosi Live - Abilene TX this Friday, April 14 to see his acoustic set.

Introducing The Davis Brothers Band

Led by brothers Braden and Bryson Davis, this local band has a Texas country sound that is steeped in blues, bluegrass, and old-time country music.

The members of this band have impressive songwriting abilities and showcase a talent for multiple instruments.

They will be performing at Outlaws and Legends this year alongside many other talented artists. If you haven't yet, be sure to get your tickets because it's going to be a great weekend. Until then, you can catch The Davis Brothers Band at Betty Rose's on March 15, at 7 PM or you can stream their single "What We'd Become".

Introducing Della Rose.

This local female duo is known for their original blend of southern rock and country music.
Emily Ramos and Chrissy Phillips are the two front women who make up Della Rose. Emily tends to bring in the southern rock side of Della Rose's music while Chrissy influences the country side of their sound. Along with their skilled voices, they both have a talent for songwriting.

They are also joined by Boone Dugan - lead guitarist, Taylor Ochs- lead guitarist and bassist, Ryan Wright- drummer, and Hayden Bartlow- bassist.

Della Rose will be playing at Mulligan's on March 17. If you have not seen these great artists perform yet you will not want to miss this opportunity to see them at Mulligans Sports Bar , Grill and Golf.

Calling all Abilene Artists/Bands to apply and go make us proud!

Fort Worth Stockyards Music Festival & Conference Artist/Band Submission process:

It is essential in our selection process that you include:
-Contact number
-Email
-Information about your group-brief bio
-Links and websites
-Provide links to samples of your music
-Press Kit

Our committee makes all of its selections in January. If you or your band is chosen to perform for this year’s festival, you will be contacted by the first of February.

If you are not selected this year, please continue to submit for future years

We generally do not book cover or tribute bands. That is not to say you can't play a couple of arrangements of covers in your set, but we are looking for bands that have a repertoire of original music.

Boone Dugan Band is a west Texas-based singer and songwriter with a unique style of country rock and roll that is highlighted in his debut album "The Dock" released in 2020. Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, Boone has been touring the lone star state for years developing his signature style of music. Boone has always been a music lover inspired initially by his love for the blues and Stevie Ray Vaughan, beginning his career as primarily a lead guitar player. Through years of playing, he developed his sound and style of songwriting that has led him to develop a strong following throughout the red dirt scene, entertaining fans with his thoughtful lyrics and energetic live shows.

“It is a phenomenon for Abilene, Texas, to have an opera company of this caliber.” - quote from world-renowned conductor Ransom Wilson

Abilene Opera Association (AOA) was founded in August 1980 by local professional vocalists and opera aficionados. Within our first year of operation, AOA sponsored a workshop for local artists and students premiering the modern fable STARBIRD. Professionals and local talent did succeed in a full-stage production of Pietro Mascagni’s one-act opera, Cavalleria Rusticana. In our second year, the AOA successfully continued our educational outreach and expanded their capacity to perform Georges Bizet four-act opera, Carmen.

Over the next (nearly) thirty years, many of the most beloved operas have been performed including La Bohéme, Don Giovanni, La Traviata, The Magic
Flute, and more. AOA also has a history of introducing newer operas, including the 2013 Texas premier of Hotel Casablanca by renowned American composer Thomas Pasatieri.

Abilene Opera Association has two consistent goals 1) to promote opera appreciation in West Texas by locally producing professional caliber grand opera, and 2) to foster local talent utilizing our professional means. This is achieved through a volunteer board and countless volunteers.

The Celebration Singers, Inc is a community show choir and non-profit charitable organization established in 1997 in Abilene, Texas. The Singers' goal is to present quality music to Abilene and the Big Country community at no admission cost.

Members of the Celebration Singers come from all over Abilene & the Big Country, are all ages, and cover a variety of professions. Their performances feature eclectic music and include two annual concerts in Abilene’s historic Paramount Theatre and special programs at other venues throughout the area. Our shows also feature smaller ensembles that add to the variety and allow more of our members to shine.
