Sometimes I work with a client that feels like a friend I’ve known forever…which is pretty crazy when we’ve never met in “real life”. Carolyn and her family are *those* very special people.
🐫We initially planned an EPIC trip to Egypt and Jordan, practically down to the minute. The bubble tents and sand boarding were booked; the Nile cruise was confirmed; the pyramids were waiting. We were all so excited!! Giddy really. And then Hamas invaded Israel and the world got scary and changed…again.
So we cried into our pillows for a minute, said our prayers for peace in the Middle East, and I stayed up until 3 am that next night coming up with EVERY alternative for an equally epic trip - over the holiday high season, now less than 3 months away🫣. The thought of disappointing this fun family was not an option. Challenge accepted.
So we did a HUGE pivot from sand to snow and we planned the Christmas of a lifetime in Iceland ❄️ with a NYE celebration in Copenhagen 🎆
And then the week before their trip, a 🌋 erupted in Iceland. At this point, we just had to laugh and make lemonade. So we added a 🚁 tour over said volcano for the day of their arrival 🤪
They did ALL the things - ATVs on black sand beaches; zip lines thru huge glaciers; snowmobiles over mountains; strolling the charming, twinkling streets of Reykjavik; catching the Northern Lights; soaking their tired bodies in a remote, better lagoon than the now-closed Blue Lagoon (thanks again, volcano); dining at some of the best restaurants in the 2 countries; and then ringing in the new year in style at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
They were great sports and I am so thankful they trusted me with their precious family vacation. You can tell by the pictures they didn’t have fun at all 😉 (and hopefully we get them to Egypt one day soon bc that itinerary is still calling their names)
This is what I love to do for clients-reduce the stress of travel so you can just focus on the fun
