July Iguana of the Month
Our iguana of the month for July is a video. This small grey iguana was in the parking lot at HSBC bank, and I caught a video of him as he was enjoying a snack.

For those of you familiar with Casa Topaz or Casa Tomas, here is a photo of someone you will recognize, even if you can only see a tiny bit of him. Thank you Gayle for the video.

Kondesa Culinary Workshop
At the Kondesa Culinary Workshop, after making 3 different types of salsas, our group made corn tortillas using a tortilla press. Then we cooked the tortillas, filled them and made empanadas.
Cozumel Carnaval camparas
Tonight is the first parade of Cozumel Carnaval 2015. Before the parades the dancing groups (comparsas) will often dance in the streets. This group performed Sat. Feb. 14 about 12 noon. in the area of Ave. 20 south and Calle Akumal. Parades are Sat. Sun. and Tues. nights, and because Cozumel changed to Eastern time recently, we understand that the parades will begin at 7pm instead of 6pm as they did in the past. If you have not been to Cozumel during Carnaval and seen the parades, you will be amazed. Fantastic costumes, floats, etc.
Fantastic day today on Cozumel. Sunny, clear blue sky, warm (77 degrees this afternoon) nice breeze. This was taken today at a small condo complex that is a bit less than a mile north of the downtown area.
Lunch on the beach
Lunch right on the ocean. This group asked the waiters to move a table and chairs out to the sandy area right by the water. This was taken at Sky Reef, a new beach club that is just south of Corona Beach Club, Cozumel
Friday night at Wet Wendy's Restaurant and Bar
Another enjoyable Friday evening at Wet Wendy's Restaurant and Bar. Enjoyed hickory smoked ribs and a margarita, plus great music. This group plays each Friday night beginning at 8pm. The audio I've been able to record really doesn't reflect how good they are. If you are in Cozumel on a Friday night, be sure to go to Wet Wendy's downtown on the main square for dinner. Great music!!
Casa del Mare north of downtown Cozumel
Taken at a small beach restaurant near downtown Cozumel. It's called Casa del Mare, and it's under one of the several palapa roofed places that are only a block or two from the north end of town. They have a restaurant plus you can relax and enjoy the sun. A nice, normally quiet place close to town. Good place to enjoy a sunset.
Christmas Tree
Merry Christmas
Friday night-Wet Wendy's Restaurant
Friday night at Wet Wendy's. Sorry that the video goes out of focus now and then (the camera has some trouble focusing at night) and it picks up a lot of ambient sounds, but the band is quite good.
This is at the condo Las Brisas, north of downtown Cozumel. It's one of the few condos that has a natural sand beach area. They also have a freshwater swimming pool that is heated from December through March.
