We started the day with a big bat ray, a leapord shark and a seagull. Kinda weird morning. The halibut finally started coming in the boat at the tide change and quickly seemed to shut off. We moved several times and scratched out a few more. We had a bunch of shakers and a few lost opportunities.
Everyone caught fish and we all had fun today.

Sunday trip we had some nicer weather. Lost a few fish. Caught a few shakers. Intervals of excitement.
We have availability next Saturday. The water is starting to warm up which means fishing should continue to improve. Some of these fish had sea lice on them, so they are quickly moving in from the ocean. Lmk if you want to go. 916-708-8323

This is one of those destiny type things. When we bought our boat, I wasn’t planning on being a guide.
Back in August, people started asking me if I was going to guide and I was being honest when I told them no. Friends asked me. Family members asked me. Even the inspector from the coast guard said this would be a perfect guide boat and even he asked me.
In the last 10 years I have learned to listen to the universe and do what people are saying because it might be the Holy Spirit speaking through people.
Even when I went to captain school I was still on the fence. But seeing the joy on my friends faces when I put them on fish. Having multiple friends tell me that was the best fishing day they’ve ever had. This is what has pushed me off the fence. I enjoy the s**t out of getting people on fish. More so than catching fish myself. I also feel obligated to get the next generation into fishing. That’s why I’ll be giving away a trip per month to kids under 18. If you feel like booking a trip now, I feel confident now I’ll be up and running mid April on weekends in the bay. I’m getting bottom paint on the 18th. After that I’ll find a slip in Berkeley.
