In June, I flew United Business Class from the US to Madrid, and it was simply lovely. One of the best perks? Access to the United Polaris Lounge at the airport. This lounge offers everything from gourmet dining and crafted cocktails to private relaxation spaces and shower suites. I enjoyed a delicious dinner there before boarding, which meant I could sleep almost the entire flight without needing to stay awake to eat.

The U.S. State Department has reopened its online passport renewal portal! Now, renewing your expired or soon-to-expire passport is easier than ever.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Open to U.S. citizens/residents 25+ with a 10-year passport issued 9-15 years ago.
- No major changes to your details (name, gender, etc.) are allowed.
- Must not be traveling internationally within the next 8 weeks.
This is a beta program, so only a limited number of applicants are accepted daily. If you meet the criteria, this is a fantastic, time-saving option! Otherwise, the mail-in option is still available.

Ever heard of a passport card?
It's a handy ID that can replace your passport book at land & sea borders to the US (think Mexico or Canada roadtrips!) BUT it's not for air travel. ✈️
Think of it as a wallet-sized passport for quick trips close to home. You can get one in person if you don't have a passport yet. Just remember: Land and sea travel only. Not air! Traveling to Europe? You definitely need the full passport book.
Did you know your Guinness (or Murphy's) deserves a little "me-time" too? Unlike a quick coffee, a proper pour takes two steps and a rest in between for that creamy goodness. Think of it as a mini-break for your perfect pint – just like you deserve!

A great option for a pre/post-cruise stay is in Bologna, Italy.
On one of our Mediterranean cruises, my family and I disembarked in Civitavecchia (Rome) and caught the high-speed train to Bologna.
Bologna is known for its university, and you feel the energy of the youth in some areas. We stayed in the city center and explored everywhere we wanted on foot.
There is a near-constant buzz in the old city. We saw the stunning Basilica of San Petronio, which at one time was planned to be larger than St. Peter’s in Vatican City.
Of course, since this is Italy, we enjoyed some delicious handmade pasta with the city’s namesake sauce: bolognese.
Humble brag for a moment? When asked what would you say to someone else who was thinking about working with me, Lisa said:

Gibraltar is a common stop on Mediterranean cruises.
Gibraltar, an overseas British territory on the southern coast of Spain, is dominated by a 1400-foot high rock. When visiting, we walked through the city center before deciding how to spend the day. We learned that there are a few options for reaching the summit of the rock.
The cable car is a unique experience, but it only takes you to one of the sites at the top. If you don’t mind a long walk with lots of elevation change, then this option is slightly cheaper and builds in exercise to your day. I recommend it for adults who are in shape. Otherwise, a van tour is the best option.
We decided to do the van tour and joined another family, and have now become friends. At the top of the rock, you'll find the Apes' Den, Queens Lookout, Skywalk, St. Michael's Cave, and much more.
Explore Europe’s amazing sights as the locals do. Some river cruise ships carry an entire fleet of complimentary bicycles so you can experience biking alongside enchanting riverside pathways and through city centers.

Pack a carry-on with a change of clothes for your first day onboard the ship so you don't have to wait for your luggage to arrive. Consider including your swimsuit so you can head straight to the pool if your cruise is in warmer weather.
Do get ready to relax and unplug; it’s guaranteed when you sail.
Get the balcony! You'll feel like you have double the space and it's a nice quiet retreat from everything else happening on the ship.
