Spring Load Restrictions Now in Effect in Freeborn County

Spring load restrictions on Freeborn County highways began, Monday, March 3, 2025. Restrictions take effect when signs are posted. Per state statute, all gravel roads in Freeborn County will be limited to 5 tons per axle during this period.

APPLY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION: Due to resident interest, the City of Albert Lea is reactivating its Human Rights Commission that has been on pause since the pandemic. The city is seeking 7 applicants for this volunteer board that works to eliminate discrimination through events, education and recommended policies. Applications are due March 10. Mayor Rich Murray will review the applications and recommend applicants to the city council for appointment in March or April. Applications are available on the city website at https://cityofalbertlea.org/boards-and-commissions/, by calling the City Clerk’s office at 507-377-4335 or visiting the City Clerk’s office at 221 E. Clark St.
