My dear friend Monday Evans had the opportunity to go to Israel earlier this year and fell in love with the country and the people. She knew before she ever left Israel that she would begin hosting groups to the country which captivated her heart. She says often that she can’t stop thinking about Israel and the way it changed her. And she wants to show others what they’ve been missing.
Please join her and her agency, Such a Time as This, a Travel Agency, in March as you experience this life-changing journey together!
They still have some spots open and would love for you to join them.
Send Monday or the agency’s page a message and they can get you all the details.🙂
Here are just a few of the things you’ll get to experience:
* The Valley of Elah where David defeated Goliath
* Sorek Valley where Samson lived
* Jaffa where Simon the Tanner lived, where Peter saw the vision on the rooftop, and where Jonah boarded the boat before he was swallowed by a big fish
* Caesarea Maritima where Peter met and baptized Cornelius and where Paul was imprisoned and spoke to Felix, Festus, and Agrippa. This is where Agrippa tells Paul that he was “almost persuaded” to be a Christian. 😭
* Nazareth to view the home of Mary when the angel appeared to her. The Nazareth village to see an actual working first-century replicated village to understand life when Jesus grew up.
* Kibbutz Ginosar to see a boat dating back to the first century discovered by archeologists. Then take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee! 💙 This is such a highlight of the trip!
* Capernaum to see where Jesus began His ministry and where Peter lived. You will see what’s remaining of Peter’s home.
* You will visit the location where Jesus fed the 5,000 as well as the Mount of Beatitudes
* Caesarea Philipi where Jesus said “Upon this Rock I will build my church..” and you’ll gain a deeper understanding of what took place there, why Jesus took His disciples there, and the significance of His statement in that location.
* Visit the ancient village of Magdala the hometown of Mary Magdalene.
* The River Jordan for baptisms for those who wish to be baptized.
* The old city of Jerusalem! There’s so much to see here, I can’t list it all. But I’ll list some of the highlights- we visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, The Garden Tomb, The Via Delarosa, Garden of Gethsemane, take the Palm Sunday walk, visit the City of David, Pools of Bethesda, the Western Wall, Hezekiah’s Tunnel to the Pool of Siloam.
* Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity
* Masada, Herod’s winter palace, and spend the afternoon floating in the Dead Sea.
* Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and Ein Gedi where David hid from Saul.
* Finally, you will do more exploring in Jerusalem before you head home.
In the midst of these amazing experiences, you will be celebrating Shabbat with a local Jewish family, having lunch in the home of a Druze family and you will be celebrating Esther and Purim with the local families in Jerusalem.
